This action is a timer-saver to instantly create a separate, blurred drop shadow layer for anything on your digital scrapbook pages. I’ve shown HOW to do what this action does on my blog but if you want Photoshop Elements or Photoshop to just do it for you, you can run this action to get the new layer with the shadow already on it and then you can completely adjust it to suit the look you are trying to achieve: change the color, the opacity, the size, warp or liquify it, erase parts of it for detailed elements or when you are creating the look of elements that are partially tucked behind other ones (like a paper clip clipped to a paper or a string woven through something). Without a shadow on a different layer, these techniques are a lot harder! See what happens when you erase part of a paper clip with a drop shadow on it to try and make it look like it is going behind the paper? You get an unwanted shadow at the top of the paper!
