(02/13/08) At the time, this portrait of Wolfgang Lazius, a famous scientist who was attached to the Habsburg court, must have provoked great merriment within those circles. As far as is known, it is the only portrait by Arcimboldo which is not composed of elements derived from nature. Wolfgang Lazius, a famous scientist who was attached to the Habsburg court, is composed of various books, including an open book for hair. It is an amusing variation on Arcimboldo's portrait more typically composed of items from nature like foods and animals. Collectible quality, resin with hand-painted color details, matte and glossy finish. Dimensions: 4.75 in. x 2.75 in. x 3 in. PN# AR03, $48 Parastone, a renown European collectible figurine manufacturer, has masterfully brought to life this legendary iconic painting of Wolfgang Lazius, the Librarian, or Book Man, by Arcimboldo, as a wonderful 3D statue adaptation in the greatest detail.See less
