I really want to try this, but I think I may need to half the recipe.

Believe me, you dont want to half the recipe. Once you actually try this stuff, you will want the whole pan and more. Plus its easy to make, so you may as well make a whole lot of it and freeze it. I make tons of it at the time(when apples are really cheap), then freeze it in smaller bakeware then its ready for when you have people show up and no food.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I'll try it for the holidays.
