Wicked runs into the opposite problem: it has a great plot, but too often the songs just get in the way. Based on Gregory Maguire's novel of the same name, Wicked tells us what happened between Glinda the Good and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, before Dorothy showed up in Oz. And the show is lucky to boast a pair of ace leading women in the main roles. As Glinda, Kristin Chenoweth delivers a sensational star turn, displaying a crystal-pure voice and sharp comic timing; Idina Menzel lends her powerful pipes to the tricky role of Elphaba. Unfortunately, you wish they had better material to work with. The middle section skips through the years, obscuring the characters behind Significant Historical Moments: Women's Lib, Vietnam, Disability Rights. The novel begins to look as though it's been planned by a divorced dad: Every alternating weekend encounter has to be packed with a major activity. This structural tendency may be the effect of Edwards's experience as a short story writer. We drop in on these characters only on important days -- separated by years that included all the minutiae of real life. They're reduced to saying things like, "The last few years have meant so much to me." I kept thinking, No, show the true nature of these people on a few ordinary days.See less

This gloss is a wonderful lip treatment for dry and chapped lips. I have tried MANY products, but this is the only one that works. Sometimes I wear it alone, but mostly, I layer it on top of my lipstick and it give the moisture that most products can't. I always have about 4 of these glosses around because I keep one in my purse, workbag, school bag, and in my makeup drawer. They really do last a long time as well. I especially like when Clinique comes out with the mini versions of these in sets! They are a great size to carry anywhere and a great way to try different colors.
