These are surprisingly wonderful.

I love these. They look so thin but they're very strong and hold quite a bit.

So this has terrible reviews, but I don't care. I wanted it. It has to charge for six hours before I can use it, so all I can tell you so far is that I look effing cool holding it.

Okay, so, people's main complaint with this thing seems to be that it doesn't hold a charge long enough. Guess how long it holds a charge? Six minutes. A lot of handhelds hold a charge longer, but, seriously, it takes people longer than six minutes to clean up the kind of small messes that a handheld is designed to clean? The only possible exception I can see to not needing six minutes is if you're trying to clean every nook and cranny of your car. If you have a mess, or various messes, or need to do a general clean up and it's going to take longer than six minutes, pull out your upright. Bending over with this thing for that long is bad for your back, anyway.So this is a rave. Not only does it look awesome and actually pick up tiny cat litter and other small particles that so many handvacs miss, but it has a washable filter (actually two filters) so you don't have to buy another one every three months.Did I mention that it looks cool?

Lol, it looks so cool I can't stand it. I kinda want to build a utility belt that it will fit in so I can carry it with me everywhere I go. I'm not even joking. Actually, I am, but only because then people would think I was crazy.If you have the money to lay out all at once, I'd say this is worth the investment. And if you buy it from someplace like Bed, Bath & Beyond and you find you don't like it, they'll give you back the whole amount as a store credit.

But I just remembered you wanted one that would clean up wet messes. So maybe this isn't your best bet. I haven't tried anything wet and I'd be afraid to try to for $150.

Yeah, I only splurged because of an unexpected windfall, so I completely understand. I agonized and hesitated over this thing a million times over the past year and always decided to try a cheaper one first.

my bf bought this for me and i love it. i usually use it to get the kitty litter out of the carpet and it picks up everything! i rarely have a small mess that i need more than six minutes cleaning... thats what a vacuum is for. its easy to clean and looks cool.

I completely agree with you. No other handheld rechargeable vacs have the same ability to pick up litter. I have the Dirt Devil plug-in handvac and it has enough suction but cat litter particles are small enough that they just go shooting out right through the bag. It's quite a few months later and I still love the Dyson.

I returned that one because it worked so poorly for me. I was really excited about it and hunted it down when it was out of stock everywhere and then it was a big stinking letdown. I thought about replacing the filter, but I'd only had it for a month and the thought of having to replace the filter every single month pissed me off.

Hmmm, I really need a new one for wet spills and kitty things and such. Mine died recently and I'm really missing it. Any good suggestions?

Well, this particular one would be terrible for wet spills for sure. You definitely want one with a plastic receptacle. I used to have the Shark cordless sweeper and it worked great on wet spills, but not much else. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Thanks, I had a Little Green Machine and it worked really well, but it died and went to heaven. I didn't think this would work on wet spills, but I WILL keep it in mind when I need a new one, which is coming soon I think.

Just about as easy to use as the knife sharpener. I generally only buy cheap scissors, so who cares if they're dull, but this works for poultry shears, too. I use it on the scissors/poultry shears in my knife block.

I've mentioned elsewhere that this is the greatest knife sharpener ever, especially for casual users. But let me say again that it's awesome.

No problem. I don't know what stores you tried or what stores are near you, but it might be a good idea to go in with the model/serial number. Maybe they can even hold one at a register for you where ever you find it.

How is this? A pain to clean?

Surprisingly not that bad. The blades come out so you can clean them safely and make sure they don't rust and once the blades are out the inside is easy to scrub.

PS: Superfun to use!
