The eggplants are a perfectly ripe purple-black color, complete with a dusty green cap. We lovingly sculpt each one by hand from polymer clay and glaze them for a shiny finish. Each eggplant is accented with a green swarovski crystal for some sparkle, and finished on closed-back sterling silver wires. (We'll be happy to exchange these for surgical steel or clip-on if you prefer.) Notice in the last picture, one of the stones has a crevasse running along one of the bottom black veins. I do not really see this as a flaw - that's the beauty of stones - they are natural elements. It has nothing to do with the structural integrity of the bead itself, it is only on the surface. I also positioned the bead on the ear wire so that it faces the back of the earring. The strongest songs are ones from her movie, "Raise Your Voice"-"Someone's Watching Over Me" and "Jericho." Both have beautiful melodies that are very well suited to Hilary's voice (she does much better with the sweet ballads than with the harder rock and roll stuff), and inspiring and upbeat lyrics. Other good songs on this album include "Fly" (a higher energy song, like "So Yesterday" from her first CD.
