So smart, the Elemento Bed brings the elements appreciated in a great chair - namely plush padding, soft upholstery and clean aesthetics - to the bed. It's the design of architect Roberto Grossi, whose work includes the Tacchini Headquarters set in the countryside between Como and Milan. The structure has been called luminous, dynamic and yet simple, and one might use the same words to describe Grossi's Elemento Bed. This upholstered platform bed combines fabric and metal in a sleek profile, which stands on a highly original base of chromed iron rod. Fully finished on all sides with soft padding everywhere, including the platform that extends 2" from the mattress. The padded headboard is gently sloped to create a comfortable backrest for reading. Aesthetically, the headboard's smooth shape, which widens and tapers with the grace of a wing, is demonstrative of Grossi's careful and studious thinking.
