I made this necklace with a mixture of my "teeny" and "tiny" hydrangea blooms. I selected flowers at random and assembled them in a random pattern. Made of sterling silver and finished with a whitened oxide, these flowers look very much like natural white hydrangeas. The main flower cluster is attached to a sterling silver 1.7mm cable chain. Just off center is another 3 petal hydrangea bloom, this little blossom is detailed both front and back, so it can never be upside down. All pieces are permanently attached to the chain, making this a necklace rather than a pendant. Total length of the necklace is 15", designed with a gentle curve to follow the natural neckline. The central cluster is 1 1/4" across, and approx. 3/4" tall. All the edges of the flowers and the raised veins on the petals have been lightly burnished to highlite the fine details and give it a silvery sparkle. Outside is glazed entirely white, the inside is chocolate brown. The hand decaled lettering and artwork have been fired on and are completely permanent: will never scratch or fade. These shot glasses were hand painted with non-toxic, lead free, food safe glazes. And fired twice in my kiln. They're made from earthenware clay and should be hand-washed for longevity.
