(11/08/09) Frosted pale blue translucent vintage lucite beads with a pattern of tiny raised dots and lines are wire wrapped with heavy sterling wire and combined with a handmade textured sterling silver hoop and big link sterling chain. Both are oxidized to a deep soft grey for contrast. Asymmetrical design. Necklace closes with a simple sterling hook that uses the sterling hoop for eye. The beads are appr. 10 mm, necklace measures 49,5 cm and is light as a feather. This necklace coordinates with my Blue frost earrings. Vintage lucite was a high quality plastic used in costume jewelry from the 1940s. Although more substantial than other plastic beads, it is surprisingly light weight and has a luscious shine and feel to it that makes it very different from modern plastic.
