This leaf is the most amazing piece of a handmade product that I personally have ever seen. I will explain why. This is a real leaf that has gone through a process all by hand. Firstly the leaf is picked and put in the sun to dry out; once it is dried the pulp is carefully removed so that the fragile skeleton is left. It is then gently put into some sort of liquid and finally it is soaked with sterling silver, 24ct gold, or half 24ct gold and half copper. This one in the above picture is half gold and half copper, which is why it has a very autumn look. No two leaves are alike. The whole process takes 3 days. In case you were wondering, the leaf is very strong. They are simply stunning. This is not just a metal stamping it is a real birch leaf. I have then put the leaf onto an autumn brown cord. The leaf itself is 2.5 inches long and the cord is 17 inches long but with request can be made longer or shorter. See less

The appeal of this motif spans all generations. These earrings have a juxtaposition of finishes. The branches themselves have been oxidized and polished to a rustic color befitting nature. The little copper leaves have been patina-ed to a verdigris finished and then sanded to bring out the copper along the edges.
