Stainless steel wire frame is the base for this Art pendant which houses a domed medallion made of 99.9% fine silver, pMC clay which is kiln fired. It has star shapes, abstract shapes added on as well as a patina that looks antiqued. Fired in place are two lab created gemstones, one in red, one violet. The frame contains Czech glass beads in green color leaf and oval shaped. The beads are sewn on in a weaving technique using very fine wire. There are genuine Amethyst nuggets, genuine black Hematite and gorgeous ruby red glass barrel beads with painted gold accent at the edges. There is a purple and white marble glass bead inside as well. It looks as though a whirlwind picked up the beads all in one tumble of abstract wind! This is a one of a kind. Nice ample piece. I have suspended it from a silver plate neck ring that has a ball that unscrews to remove the pendant. It could be worn on a cord or different chain as well. Glass triangle and round beads are handsewn in a square stitch in four sections. Between each section is a Mykonos ceramic bead for accent. The design makes it look like a continuous band. I love these greek beads! After being kiln-fired, they are dipped in fine silver and fired again. It gives the bracelet that metal look without the weight. And because the beads are made of ceramic, they have a subtle surface texture unlike regular metal beads. The triangle beads are with a metallic finish in gold with the barest tints of light pink and green on some beads. All rounds seed beads are in gold finish. Bracelet fits comfortably for 6 to 7.5 inch size wrist. Width is 3/5 inch. Coin bead is 5/8 inch diameter. Very comfortable! The square stitch makes this a very soft and flexible bracelet to wear. There is a story behind these beads; Max was a 14-year-old with a mild case of autism, and difficulty functioning in most situations. When he came to classes in lampwork, though, he excelled - creating beads not usually made by individuals his age, or with his lack of experience! These particular beads were his mother's favorite design! The bracelet right now is relatively small, perfect for a wrist that is 6" or less; however I will happily extend the length upon request.
