After 6 months of itching and seeing many doctors, along with a topical steroid- a PA recommended this lotion. I have been using AmLactin for 4 years. I have Lupus and several skin irritations as a result of the Lupus. I use AmLactin from my feet to the top of my thighs every morning after my shower. Finally, an answer for finger splits My 11 year old, who experiences various eczema flare-ups, was having a terrible time with the ends of her fingers splitting open and I was unable to get her into a dermatologist for 3 months! I read Dr. Kunin´s article on Eczema and one of the recommendations was Epilyt. It began working the first day. Good stuff! This works great for keratosis pilaris which I have on my arms. It started up again when I ran out!! Others complain that it doesn´t absorb quickly, but if your skin is as parched as mine, it´s the only one that doesn´t absorb completely within 30 seconds so you actually don´t have to reapply every 5-10 minutes. I´ve been using this for a year, 1 or 2x/day, and can´t do without it. I find it quite economical as the alternatives are pricier. I used to soak in heavy bath oil for 45 min. a day. The purported 'dual action' is just not there, to the point where I am more irritated at the FTC than anything else: a bottled vitamin supplement would not be permitted to make the absurd claim that it would clear up old skin blemishes, yet somehow this product seems to believe in the unproven efficacy of its vitamin-enhanced formula, and believes its scant few 'fruit acids' (side note: if you are shopping for an 'alpha-hydroxy acid,' a.k.a. 'AHA,' product, it is best to stick with the ones that list the per cent of the AHA) will perform miracles normally only seen in dermatologists' office. The 2% salicylic acid is a bona-fide proven 'beta-hydroxy' acne... See less
