This one of a kind work of art was made using a recycled mid 19th century sterling silver pocket case that measures 1.5 inches in diameter. The case has a gorgeous patina and shows sign of wear due to it being over 150 years old. The thick bullseye glass crystal is original as well and also shows signs of wear. The top is hinged and can open so you can have a closer look at the Momento Mori relic I created using the skull, jaw, and ribs of a mouse. The mouse died in the natural circle of life as these bones were delicately salvaged from an owl pellet, then sterilized and bleached to create this stunning reliquary. I used moonstones as eyes to further add to the subtle intrigue of this piece. The 3 strand segmented chain measures 18 inches long upon which I strung a teardrop shaped cream colored Swarovski pearl. The chain is made of antiqued sterling silver plated brass. The eyes are elegantly highlighted in black and the entire mask is outlined with a golden braid.
