* Following on the heels of band-mate Duff McKagan's solo album, newest Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke's debut solo release, PAWNSHOP GUITARS, reveals roots which run deep into a foundation of T-Rex, the Rolling Stones, and the power-pop of groups like the Beatles and Cheap Trick. Chunky riffs and unabashed choruses abound, as do guest artists. McKagan appears behind the skins to round out a power trio of Clarke and ex-Pixie Frank Black on a cover of The Clash's "Jail Guitar Doors". The rest of G N'R also pops up on PAWNSHOP GUITARS: Slash's unmistakable leads drive "Cure Me Or Kill Me", while keyboardist Dizzy Reed's Mellotron mastery and drummer Matt Sorum's timely playing lend a "Magical Mystery Tour"-like air to "Black". Clarke's rendition of the Stones' "Dead Flowers" boasts producer Waddy Wachtel's lead guitar playing, Skid Row drummer Rob Affuso bashing away on skins, and W.
