Description: This high society 40's hat is full of mystery and speaks to the subtle temptress. Brown netting that starts at the brim and goes down to the jawline and is attached by brown velvet ribbon. The brown velvet ribbon continues to make its presence known by being the trim between the front brim and crown and wraps itself either around or underneath the hair to form a bow on the side of the jaw line. To add a little extra glamour to the hat, two costume pearls have been attached to a white rhinestone teardrop that dangles from the left side of the front narrow brim. A beautiful shade of pinkish mauve velour is used for the majority of this striking chapeau. The label reads Jainchill New Haven. The hat is in excellent condition except for the 1/16'' wear hole on the back that does not go all the way through (see attached photo) and some slight discoloring and wear. I've create a unique surface design by hand dying this vegetable tanned leather which creates an aged or mottled highlight effect on the surface. The buckle is a 3.5" nickel plated steel ring with a button stud to hold the belt in place by hooking into the holes and the belt strap is is 1.75" wide. The ring buckle swivels, so the belt hugs your body by wrapping around on an angle, can be worn through belt loops or looks great over a tunic or dress. This leather softens and shapes to your body as it is worn. The belt is made long (fits up 39") so it can easily be made shorter for a custom fit (I'll send instuctions on measuring). See less
