Introducing our newest creation, the Chalkydoodles chalkboard labels made with 100% NATURAL JUTE fabric. Just what you need to help get organized this fall! ~ Set of 8 Rectangle Jute and Chalkcloth labels with coordinating gingham ribbon or jute ties ~ Our chalkboard labels are made just for you (of course!) with Natural Jute fabric or oilcloth and Chalkcloth. You choose your coordinating gingham ribbon. I use them to label our toy & books baskets, but there are tons other uses for them, too! Label your fruit & veggie bins, hat & coat hook, shoe cubbies - and lots more! Each mini chalkboard label is home-sewn with a layer of jute on the back, jute upper and lower edges on the front and erasable chalkcloth. If you want to make a more modish thin (2 3/4-inch wide) tie you can just cut 3/8ths-inch in from the long edge of the front, middle, and back sections of the pattern and then trim the interfacing piece and lining accordingly. Conversely if you wanted a wide tie you could add 3/8-inch to each edge. Cut out the Front, Back and Middle Pieces on the bias. Below is an easy, fool proof method of cutting on the bias (but please keep in mind that your pattern shape will be slightly different than the one in the pictures below.) Cut the 27-inch x 54-inch piece of Tana Lawn in half length-wise to create two 27-inch squares. Take one of these squares and fold it in half diagonally as shown above and press it. The PDF file may contain several sizes; print the page that has the one you need. We use the smallest peony template and the largest rose template to make the bridesmaid corsages. We used the largest template to make the oversize peony worn in the bride's hair. It can be downloaded two ways: One version prints on 11-by-17-inch paper; if your home printer won't print on paper that large, you can take the image on a disk or thumb drive to any copy shop. The alternate version prints on two pieces of 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper; cut out each template, and then overlap them at the shaded areas and tape together. Use the stencil to cut out 9 to 17 layers of fabric (the bigger your flower, the more layers you'll need). Repeat with a third petal, positioning the stacked petals so they make a complete rosette with no gaps. (If you want a fuller effect, make the rosette with up to 5 petals.) Wrap floral wire tightly around petals at the center, and twist underneath to secure. Excess wire becomes a stem. 4. Make 2 more rosettes (for a showier flower like the bouquets, make 4 total). 5. Stack rosettes, slipping each wire stem between the petals of the rosettes beneath. 6. Twist stems together; cover with floral tape. Fluff petals. For the garland, wrap stem around greenery.
