As the death toll from southern Asia's devastating earthquake and tsunami rose by the thousands Monday, he jumped on the phone to try to set up a Sumatra Relief Fund through a local bank. ``My wife has family in northern Sumatra, and we were trying to get ahold of them all day Sunday. Thank God they are OK,'' said Lolong, 50. ``But now I am trying to get all the local Indonesian organizations and churches together to make a plan.'' The Bay Area is home to the single largest concentration of people of Asian descent in the nation. Nearly 143,000 Indo-Americans live in the region, according to the 2000 census, with smaller immigrant populations from Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and other affected nations.
