(11/06/07) This is my favorite set of blocks in the whole world!! Yes it is that beautiful. It is made from a beautifully stained wood in Germany. This set becomes more and more impressive as you unveil each of the 5 layers. Each layer of 20 pieces is a different thickness and different color theme (100 total pieces!), however all layers are cut into the same shapes so pieces of different thicknesses and colors can be intermixed to make amazing patterns. Charlie is shown stacking a tower on top of one layer and you can see some of the other layers on the table. It comes with several suggested patterns to try but of course, its uses and patterns are endless. We often play with this puzzle on the kitchen counter while cooking dinner. You can intermix blocks from other sets as well. If you are giving this set to a young child, you could present the child with another layer every few weeks.
