For me, I think that the chain is too short and the way the necklace is, the words are on top, with the compass piece underneath. I would have liked it if the compass covered the words instead. I am so drawn to compass designs - the promise of another place, adventure, the mystique of magnetics and gravity, the symmetry of the compass rose, the history implied in its quaint design... Something wonderful about polymer clay is its ability to mimic so many other craft and art forms, and well. This compass reminds me of an old, burnished puck of leather, the brass chain lending further to the illusion of age and history. Pendant is about 1 1/5 inches wide.
