Several of you emailed me, checking in during/after the storms. Thank you- that was super nice of y’all. All is well here - no damage or tornado touch downs in my area. Many things were blown out in the yard/field, small hail, high winds, a short power outage, and a few shingles blew off - thankfully, that’s all. My family has left. I finished my last day of Real Estate class today. Now I am preparing for my girlfriend to arrive for a week. I am looking forward to seeing J. She has promised to make me study for my tests. I am excited about having the classes behind me but nervous about the tests. I know this may sound weird but I really enjoyed my classes. I met a lot of really neat people over the past month. The past couple of weeks have been a roller coaster ride. I don’t think I have mourned the loss of my dad. Between losing my job, throwing myself into school and entertaining my family I haven’t had any time to myself. After my family left yesterday afternoon I sat down and cried for hours. I am afraid the anger and sadness is going to take over when I least expect it. I hope everyone is having a good week so far! See less

I always say how I like the idea of being able to hand people’s little ones back when I’m done oohing and ahhhing over them. Very few of you know that secretly I’ve always wanted babies. Nothing would please me more than to stay home and do nothing but care for wee ones. Having my own kids to watch grow would be the best thing in the world. I put on a big show of denial for who knows what reason–I think I’m just scared. I want to be able to invite my friends to my baby shower and have all of us decorate the nursery that will house my first, second and maybe even third family addition. I want the formula, diapers, burpings, strollers and nighttime songs in the rocking chair. Seems the labs just came back. Hubs is Type II diabetic... just like me. Shit. He has his physical today, but the doc evidently had forgotten that and wanted to be sure he got the news right away. It threw both of us into a small tailspin until we both realized it could have been something much worse. This, at least, is treatable and with as "good" as I know Hubs will be, he'll be right as rain in no time. See less
