I have a green one. I take this AND the Camelbak. Nalgenes are easier to clean, so it's better for using drink mixes.

I probably wouldn't buy again. One of the few backpacking purchases I would re-do. It's warm, yet well-ventilated - it does what it's supposed to. But, it smells bad quickly, and after a day or so, the compression feel makes my skin feel sort of tingly and itchy at the same time. Slept in it once, that was awful. My Black Diamond quarter zip fleece is much more comfortable over the long haul, and seems equally warm, without feeling constricted. Oddly, I don't have the same complaints about the leggings. Weird.

I have the brown, because black wasn't in stock last October. They look ridiculous, but they work well. NOTE: a breathable outer layer is a must. They are way too hot for hiking under windpants. Just need visual cover. :-) Use of Body Glide is highly recommended.

Works as a fireside stool much better than a snow-covered log does. :-) Keeps bears out of food. More importantly (for this area), also keeps out racoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. It IS awkward to fit into the backpack, though.

It's light, it's bigger than the plastic measuring cups I'd been using, seems pretty strong. Looking forward to using it! Note the double-walled version is significantly smaller, volume-wise. I'll take the heat loss over the small capacity and double weight.

These are my boots. Love-hate relationship here. Mostly Love. Durable, waterproof, excellent ankle support. They've saved a sprained ankle half a dozen times already, in the first season of ownership. Went to Europe with me - very comfortable. They are HEAVY, though. But I'd buy them again.

just ordered - on its way I've used Vern's many times. LOVE it. Quite possibly my favorite backpacking item. Not as essential as a tent, backpack, or boots. But the gap between this saw and a hatchet is much, much bigger than the gap between the Osprey pack and my el-cheapo external frame pack, for instance.

Really nice for going uphill. Jury still out on whether they're worth the weight overall. Definitely useful for backpacking with lots of ups and downs. Might not use for a trip on even ground. Will double as snowshoe/cross-country ski poles if I ever get into those activities.
