Hello, Lady…or should I say, Hello, Kitty? Lady Gaga poses as Hello Kitty to celebrate the world’s most beloved feline’s 35th birthday. The photos—which appear in a special edition of Ms. G’s debut album The Fame—feature the songstress with eyelids painted as big cartoon doe eyes and pink-streaked hair donned with a big plush red bow.

Celebs are raisin’ the beauty bar this season with raisin and merlot-colored pouts. It’s a trend—when done right—that looks ravishing and evocative of a time gone by. How do you do raisin lips right? Make sure to lightly brush cheeks with a pale blush to bring warmth to the look and play down the eyes (think mascara and a subtle smoky lid).

Yesterday marked the launch of Forever21’s beauty line, Love & Beauty, making F21 the first fashion retailer of its kind in the US to come out with its own line of cosmetics (Zara and H&M have their own beauty lines—but alas they are not yet offered in the States).

Love & Beauty is obviously geared to a younger demographic (in step with Forever21’s fashion), but succeeds in giving all of us a cheaper alternative to playful makeup (reminding us that makeup is fun, after all!).
