There’s no better time to decorate your digits with confetti-like colors than New Year’s Eve. So to ring in 2010, put some bling on it! Here are 20 flashy lacquers that’ll get you in the mood to wave goodbye to ’09 and usher in the new decade.

The brand known for its spandex clothes and sexy ads launched its own line of nail colors last week, much to our delight here at Kaboodle HQ. The lacquers (which retail at $6 each) channel the monochromatic metro-chic vibe of AA’s clothes, with colors like Passport Blue and Cotton. Also like its clothes, all polishes are made eco-consciously (without formaldehyde and toluene) in the USA.

Which of these hues would you use to decorate your digits?

Recently, stellastylista pointed me to this elongated nail ring from Delfina Delettrez ($370)—a fourth-generation Fendi and jewelry designer. The nail ring has made its foray as a fad of 2009, but here’s one that invites us to make it our own—via polish, decals, Minx, jewels, or fabric—(it even comes with a bottle of red polish).

What do you think of this customizable nail ring? Resplendent or repulsive?

Admittedly, I only caught part of last night’s American Music Awards, but what little I saw (eh hem, Adam Lambert’s salacious performance of “For Your Entertainment”) left me wishing I made the time to watch the entire show. Besides on-stage shockers—like Adam’s spontaneous kiss and JLo’s fall (from which she recovered without skipping a beat)—a trend I observed the little bit I caught of last night’s show was the prevalence of black polish. From Demi Lavato’s digits and Kelly Clarkson’s fingernails (both shown below) down to Shakira’s toes (shown here), the stars accessorized all kinds of ensembles with black polish.

I love when Katy Perry tweets about her bold beauty ventures. A while back, I shared her TwitPics of her fierce cheetah- and floral-print nails. But the “Waking Up in Vegas” singer decided to turn it up a notch by dressing her digits to the nines for the MTV European Music Awards. Here we see her bedazzled bling-encrusted fingernails.
