This morning, I walked out of my apartment thinking my makeup, hair, and outfit looked pretty good. Then at lunch, as I was checking myself in the car mirror, I was horrified—my overzealous use of blush had me looking like a kooky clown. I love makeup, but even I reckon it can be “too much of a good thing.” I’ll attribute my heavy rouge to the poor lighting in my apartment. But I ask you—what’s Christina Aguilera’s excuse? And Pam’s and Dita’s?

what a great topic!! sometimes i feel the same way, then i leave the apartment and realize how horrible the lighting is cuz then i get into natural light and it looks like i overdid it on the blush!! i hate that! but honestly cristina aguilera, although really pretty, looks awful in that picture. wayyy too much makeup! if your gonna do a lot of eyeshadow, dont overdo the bronzer and lipstick too! eeekkk..oh and i think dita looks good too. haha wow. this may sound terrible but pam looks like a dead hyena in that pic. i think people wear so much make up because they want to cover up every imperfection or they want to look younger. also, a lot of stars wear extra make up so that it will show up better on camera (ever seen a newscaster in person? tons of make up...) i like dita's look too. i didn't even know who she was until someone saw my wife's driver's license pic and said that she looked like marilyn manson's wife (when they used to be married - not my wife and marilyn manson but dita -- oh, you know what i mean...). I think Dita looks great - She has a certain look that she's going for, and she's achieving it. Christina Aguilera is forgetting the play one up tone the rest down rule. I don't know if I would call her a clown. I think if I were to pass her on the street, and for some reason not realize she was Christina Aguilera, I would think she gave it away at the street corner. I'm always neurotic about wearing too much blush and end up under-doing it.Pam looks awful. I wish someone could tell her. I think she is trying too hard to hold onto her former glory (whatever that was). Ever seen her before she was famous? She was naturally gorgeous.About Dita, I like her look. But in that picture I don't really like her foundation and I think she arched her black liner a little too high. I really do love Dita's look. What can I say - I have a soft spot for vintage pinup inspired looks and I think she typically pulls it off really well. Like many other have said, Pam is a mess and is just trying to look young. The scary thing is that Pam is only 42 - the same age as Lauren Graham, Carrie Ann Moss, Faith Hill, Julia Roberts, and Kate Walsh and none of them look this haggard. Sadly, top prize for most over done make up has to go to Christina. The reason for it is that she can look really pretty, even when she loads on the makeup. I'm going to give Christina the benefit of the doubt and say she's probably wearing stage makeup. The pic looks unplanned, so she could be making her way onstage where under the lighting conditions she would look just fine either on camera or too a large audience.
