This is a vintage rough cotton in a great red with a somewhat abstract flower motif. Excellent colour - a good warm red, excellent accent for modern rooms. New zipper with cool stainless steel pull, and a new feather insert. Pillowcase is slightly under 20" x 20" (we make our pillowcases slightly smaller to get a well-stuffed pillow with a standard 20" sq. insert). We can do sustainable bamboo filling in all our pillows for an upcharge of $20. We do not use bamboo as our regular fill, however, because we feel it's still too hard and lumpy. Sustainable fillings are definitely still in the experimental stage. We are also experimenting with kapok and natural latex fills but so far none of them perform remotely like feather. We avoid foam because of its environmental dubiousness, but we'll happily provide it for allergy reasons - just ask us.s See less

This is a really incredible piece of collectible fabric! The cotton weave has an unusually nice heavy tooth. This was made from a single vintage curtain, and it's a one-of-a-kind. It's getting very hard to find cotton with this much character. This pillow will last forever. And the colours are amazing - the sort of chartreuse/ochre/brown colour allies it with a neutral scheme, so it matches a surprising number of colour families. It would work with either ultra modern or traditional decor. Pillowcase is slightly under 20" x 20" (we make our pillowcases slightly smaller to get a well-stuffed pillow with a standard 20" sq. insert). We can do sustainable bamboo filling in all our pillows for an upcharge of $20. We do not use bamboo as our regular fill, however, because we feel it's still too hard and lumpy. Linen Fiber Story The oldest fiber known to man, linen has a history dating back to the Stone Age and was once in such widespread use that it became the generic term for many of our household items. Though it has since become less common, linen is still an extremely well-loved, luxurious yet functional, product. Linen fibers come from the blue-flowered flax plant that grows mainly in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Ancient Egyptians wrapped their mummies in linen strips, making full use of its incredible natural strength, which actually increases when wet (that's the reason linen washes so well and is so long lasting). In addition, linen is highly breathable and non-allergenic, has excellent color fastness and becomes even softer with repeated washings.
