Dinner Dance Dress.Discussion

Helloooo, Kaboodle friends, it's been awhile! It's been so long since I actually got on here and made something. I've just been extremely busy. My apologies to everyone's creations I didn't get to see, but I needed to catch up quickly. I bet they're all fantastic!

So, today's question is about the end-of-the-year ceremony, otherwise known as Dinner Dance. Many girls have gotten their dresses already, and it's not for a least a month and a half. But, being prone to last-minute shooping, I have decided to get ahead of the game. Hah! >:)

Now, Dinner Dance isn't anything compared to Prom, but it's still formal and i want jaws to drop! Many of my friends have already purchased their dress, and of course, I would like to find the perfect one for me. This year, my friend abby is renting a limo for dinner dance and we are going with our little cicle of close girlfriends and our dates (if i manage to find one!)

The first dress I picked out is from Forever21 and is $24.80(steal!).
I'd probably have to order it online though. I like it, but I'm not sure if I want it yet. Also, it looks peachish in the picture, but it's actually more red.

However, the second dress is not the exact dress I want. Additionally, it's from VS so it's expensive (around 80!). I picked this dress to show you though because I love the idea of one shouldered dresses and I love the red color. But, with a one-shouldered dress, I'd have to wear something to cover my shoulders.

What do you like? Or, should i go with something totally different?

Gimme some feedback! (:
Thanks guys,
ANNA <3

P.S. accessory/hair/makeup ideas are welcomed! - in fact - encouraged!

  • Hmmm,, I like the Forever 21 dress,, but it doesn't seem formal enough. I lovee the VS one. But I wouldn't want to ruin a great dress with something covering your shoulders D: I'm sure you'll figure something out (: Report Spam Posted by heart2cheer at 4:31 PM on 04/09/10

  • The F21 dress is cute, but it's not really formal at all. The second dress is much more "jaw dropping" and it's more formal. When you wear a one shoulder dress the point is to show one shoulder, so I'm not sure why you would cover your shoulders. I hope you have fun at your Dinner Dance though! • Well I love that VS dress, but I have to agree with the other girls about covering your shoulder, it would defeat the purpose. I dont think the F21 dress would flatter you very well, while it is pretty its more of a casual dress.http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=promo_promdresses&product_id=2074629735&Page=1 This dress is quite like the VS one but much cheaper.IMHO this http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=promo_promdresses&product_id=2072726856&Page=1 dress would be a jaw dropper at a great deal! • I like both but kinda like the 2nd one better if you want jaws to drop. Report Spam Posted by tiffany18190 at 6:01 PM on 04/09/10

  • The first dress makes the model look frumpy, and if it makes the modle look like that, no one would look good in it. And it is too casual too.... The other one, is deffently a "jaw dropper"... what you said about the shoulder, makes me think that there must be a dress code? Either go with a strapless dress and get a cute cardi to go over it, or something with a strap.... I'll be on the look out for a cute but inexpensive dress for you! • red is fierce! i loove the second dress! why do you have to cover your shoulder? school policy? maybe try a wrap dress thatll have the same effect but just with two shoulders? this ones sorta like the 2nd one: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=dress&product_id=2074629735&Page=2&pgcount=25 Report Spam Posted by sarahdipityyy at 4:03 PM on 04/11/10

  • I'd try something different if you have to have both your shoulders covered. It sounds like there is still time, and I'm sure you'll find something that will make you as happy as the VS dress. Report Spam Posted by lavabunny at 4:17 PM on 04/11/10

  • i agree, the forever21 dress isn't that formal and if ur gonna wear a one shoulder dress then i don't think u need to cover it cuz it would ruin it all http://www.amiclubwear.com/clothing-dress-n10-e1009dred.html http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=one+shoulder+red+dress&show=li&sa=N&lnk=next&start=100&gnum=20 Report Spam Posted by hancutie261 at 9:58 PM on 04/16/10
