Skeggings???

Omala Skegging

Skeggings are a combination of a shirt and leggings. Will skeggings be the next big trend? Or, as my friend said, are they just the ugly cousin of the skort?

Check out Hue's version here:
http://www.hue.com/Leggings/Knits/HUE-Skegging-Skirt-and-Legging-in-One.aspx

I don't think this trend is for me. I am perfectly okay with purchasing a skirt and a pair of leggings separately.
Your ideas?

  • I'm personally not a fan. They remind me of an outfit a dancer would wear for practice or rehearsals.. not for an actual outfit. Report Spam Posted by mollysaurus at 6:00 PM on 01/18/12

  • While I would certainly wear a skirt with leggings, I'm not sure they need to be purchased together! Report Spam Posted by sweans at 6:19 PM on 01/18/12

  • I agree that I wouldn't want to buy both together/attached although I do like the look, more so if the skirt and leggings do not match. Report Spam Posted by redefinethis at 7:01 PM on 01/18/12

  • Not a fan! Report Spam Posted by clothesminded at 7:56 PM on 01/18/12

  • I'm against them ;-) Report Spam Posted by markblemish at 8:12 PM on 01/18/12

  • I definitely do not think that they are the "next big thing"... They look like something women that are big fans of running would be interested in though... maybe big money for athletic gear retailers? Report Spam Posted by w1drwomn at 7:55 AM on 01/19/12

  • And the name is awful... Report Spam Posted by w1drwomn at 7:56 AM on 01/19/12

  • Sorry I'd rather wear skorts because actual they look like you are wearing a skirt I had worn them before and thank you for sharing<3 Love, Linda Report Spam Posted by hawklns1 at 8:02 AM on 01/19/12

  • It's an interesting idea..but no, i don't see myself wearing these. HOWEVER, these are a GREAT idea for younger girls-my neice is 8 or 9 years old, i'd love to buy her a pair as it gives her the adult feel of a short skirt with more freedom of movement. I also like that the skegging will let little girls wear short or shorter skirts without parents having to worry so much about predators as everything's covered up. • funny...when I was in middle school (like 12 years ago) I had a couple pairs of these pants/skirts...I really loved them! I don't think they are the next big thing but I think they are a cute option for little girls. Report Spam Posted by sweeetkristen at 11:08 AM on 01/19/12

  • I'd wear these for Pilates for sure. I also agree with @pinkone, they're good for children. Report Spam Posted by x0xsharicex0x at 12:29 PM on 01/19/12

  • I wore this look for years when I was dancing ballet. I think I am a bit old to wear it now. But, should it make it back again as a trend, I would not be surprised! Report Spam Posted by sweetiegirl at 12:41 PM on 01/19/12

  • Nice look. Report Spam Posted by sweetiegirl at 12:42 PM on 01/19/12

  • actually xoxsharicexox has a point-these would be great for yoga as well..not sure about running though! Report Spam Posted by pinkone at 3:59 PM on 01/19/12

  • Skeggings aren't for me, but they look adorable on my baby grand niece :-) Report Spam Posted by cimino68 at 4:54 PM on 01/19/12

  • It's different, but I like! Report Spam Posted by her_arsenic_kiss at 8:49 PM on 01/19/12

  • Never liked leggings, I love cargo pants and bell bottoms, full skirts and a-line dresses, I hope this is a sign, the death knell of leggings for good! Report Spam Posted by doubleletterlady at 9:05 AM on 01/20/12

  • Who is in charge of marketing these days? Jeggings, skeggings, whats next? This reminds me of the shirts/vests or the t-shirts over a long sleeve shirt that are sold as one shirt for children. People can buy things are their own! Report Spam Posted by dreapuff at 9:10 PM on 01/20/12

  • meh....I enjoy wearing skirts or short dresses over leggings/tights,but want to choose the length of the skirt/dress Report Spam Posted by artisangoods at 10:50 PM on 01/20/12

  • Too boring. Maybe if they were made out of cashmere and they were on the clearance rack I would consider owning one pair for my imaginary trips to the Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings. But probably still not then. Report Spam Posted by alicatstrut at 5:33 AM on 01/21/12

  • So they're called "skeggings", eh? Such a funny name. I actually have a pair that looks something like those on the right that are for running. I always feel self-conscious wearing ultra tight running tights, so the skirt element provides some coverage action that makes me feel less exposed. • Thats...interesting! Haha Report Spam Posted by converse18 at 6:37 PM on 01/21/12

  • I'm with you on that girl!!!! Skirt and leggings seperately that is!!!!!! I dont' even wear skirts; and wear my one pair of leggings around the house to keep my legs warm, without wearing sweatpants!!! Need new sweatpants anyway!!!!! Cut mine into shorts!!!! Report Spam Posted by susan_brown at 5:10 PM on 01/22/12

  • P.S. Would buy them for my granddaughters if they liked them!!! Report Spam Posted by susan_brown at 5:17 PM on 01/22/12
