I actually went out and got my nosed pierced and to tell you the truth my mother was worried about how it would look but she thinks it is really cute. Right now I have a silver tear drop glitter stud in it. I love it and I never thought I wouls. AND on the plus side it didn't hurt at all. It was over before it really started. If anyone wants to get their first " outrageous " piercing I would go with the nose. You can't go wrong with it.

Please make sure you keep it clean, and avoid any ocean water for a couple of months.... My sister had a piercing above her lip, and it got infected after swimming -- really bad! She ended up getting something that looked like a pimple, and then before she knew it, the skin grew over her piercing. Luckily, she eventually got it out, with the help of her husband and some pliers. NO JOKE. }:

Look for an extra thin silver or gold stud to keep the piercing clean, smooth and small. In case, you lose interest in the years to come. Experience talking.
