This beautiful girl made her way into my yard today, so I had to save her from my dogs. I tried to get her to come out for some pictures, but she was shy. I did manage to get this picture of her staring at me from inside of her shell before I sent her on her merry way out in the woods.

Aw! This is also called a Painted Turtle, I believe. We have one as a pet that my parents found when they were in college (a million years ago). Turtles live a longgg time.
They're very similar, emyko, but seperate species.
