Yesterday I had to go find a swimsuit for this weekend, and as usual I bought more than just the swimsuit. Having a bit of an "apple" body shape, all my weight goes to my belly, and I desperately needed a tankini that did not exaggerate this phenomena that has occurred on my waistline since I hit my mid-20s. I would love to show you guys the swimsuit I bought, but sadly, I can't find it anywhere online.
Anyways, I went to Macy's where they are having a huge sale right now. Their swimwear is majorly discounted - I got mine for almost 60% off. For a grand total of $138 I got the tankini top and bottom, a pair of Roxy board shorts, a swim cover-up and a pair of Lucky jeans. I signed up for a Macy's card (eeek, they finally got me!) and so I saved about $160. The picture shows the jeans I got. They are much cuter in person, and the embroidery on the back pockets sparkle! Normally the jeans run $110, but they were 30% off!
After Macy's, we (my boyfriend went with me) to Zumiez to look for guys board shorts. While we were there, I picked up the above purse and proceeded to carry it around the store with me. He picked out some awesome black plaid board shorts, and I bought the purse. The question is, should I keep it? I have my white
Kenneth Cole New York purse, but it's the only bag I have right now.
Any input would be appreciated! Did anyone else have any 4th of July sale bargains?

What a fun shopping trip! Thanks for the heads-up on the swim sale at Macy's. Going to have to check it out :).
If you really like it, yeah keep it.
@tort I like it, I think I'm just suffering a bit of buyer's remorse after spending all that money. I'm leaning towards keeping it...
Alas, I have the big butt syndrome and there's nothing to cove that in a bathing suit. :( Heh.
Keep it! Always good to have something else to use. I used to work retail and remember the July 4th sales being some of the best of the year.
haha I recently signed up for a Macy's card... they got me too!
Sounds like you had a great time. I would keep the bag too.
I would keep the bag, its less fancy than your other one so you can wear it to less fancy events! Oh and if your interested in sales, you should check out ASOS, everything is like 80% off right now!!!
Great shopping! If you don't absolutely love the bag, I'd take it back. You might even find something cheaper that you love even more at Target or somewhere.
cute plaid bag...great for casual occassions :) sounds like a fun shopping trip :)
I love the plaid bad, but if you aren't in love with and are feeling anxious about it there are always other bags so maybe return it. But it sounds like you got great deals!
your shopping tale is wonderful! you hit some good deals. i would say keep the purse, but i'm partial to plaid. it looks cute next to those jeans!
for macys shoe department, if its a small one, ask if there have been any returned shoes of a brand they don't carry but another macys does, they sell them at a discounted price.
Very cute bag. Go ahead and use it. The jeans are nice as well.
that bag is adorable! :D
sounds like you had an awesome time!
Sounds like a fun time. I didn't do any shopping (other than Walmart for some necessary things). How much was the bag? I'm not a plaid girl, but I like it anyway. But don't keep it if it's going to haunt you. Otherwise, heck yeah. :)
I get buyer's remorse after spending a lot of money too. I'd say that if you aren't in love with the bag, then return it. I've found that if I'm not 100% in love with it, I only use it for a little bit before going back to my more loved items. When this happens, I wish I'd saved the money on the other thing. If you do really love it, then I say keep it. : )
Thanks for the help everyone!
@lamerchick The purse was $29.95 - I already took it to the Oregon Country Fair with me, and it got thoroughly rained on, so I will be keeping it. =) I do like it a lot, it has lots of awesome pockets and a lifetime warranty.
Yay. For $29.95 don't sweat it, especially since you like it so much.
sounds fun ...
Love the bag -- glad you're keeping it! Nice deal hunting!!
i love plaid, so thats cool you're keeping the bag.. awesome you saved so much $ too!
Fun purse, and saving $ is always amazing!
