All About Cristina

Jun 2, 2009
What could be more interesting than learning all about me?!  Ha, ha!  Thanks to ilykthx for coming up with the survey!

Personals:

How tall are you?

Somewhere between 5'7" and 5'8".

What is your shoe size?
Usually 9.5.

What color is your hair?
Naturally medium brown.  Dyed black.

What is your ethnicity?
I'm American.  Heritage-wise, I'm a little Italian, British, Scottish, Swedish, etc., etc., etc.

What country do you live in?
US.  I live in California and have my whole life...aside from a year-and-a-half spent in NYC.

Styles:

What is your favorite online shopping website?
Kaboodle, of course!  I'm also a big fan of Etsy.

What would you describe your style as?
I've been told "grandma."  Ha!  I'd probably say it's pretty basic with dashes of wackiness and over-the-top-ness.

What is your favorite shoe style?
Super-high patent leather pumps.  That totally makes me sound like a foot fetishist!

Lists:

Which list would you say you add to the most?
Randomness and Shoes, for sure.

Which list is your personal favorite?

I ♥ my Randomness list.

What is your one pet peeve in lists?
When people come in and say they hate something or think it's ugly.  Ha, ha!  I mean, feel free, but you don't really need to tell me.  :)

What do you always make sure to do with your lists?

I try and organize the unruly ones (I know I really need to deal with some of them) and I always mention if I've bought something and try and follow up with a sentence or two about how it worked out.

Favorites:

What is your favorite food?
Generally speaking, potatoes.  I love potatoes.  And cheese.  God, I love cheese.  I'm also a big fan of red meat.  Specifically, my mom's chicken and polenta with cream sauce or her Cornish pasties.

What is your favorite drink?

Diet Dr. Pepper is the fuel that keeps The Cristina going.  I'm also a big fan of a good beer, Riesling, or cocktail.  Booze!

What is your favorite color?
Red.

What is your favorite dessert?
Anything with bananas and fried goodness.

Skipped kindergarten?! You little smarty pants! :P
Great post!

Skipping kindergarten is hardcore.

Ha, ha! They wanted me to skip first grade too, but my mom wouldn't agree! And look at me now! Curing diseases and working in rocket science!

Your only food aversion is subpar lettuce? Hmm. I have a very hard time believing that one...

Dude, I've eaten sweetbreads, bone marrow, tongue, liver, snails, etc. I'll eat pretty much anything. But I hate warm/soggy/wet lettuce.

Cornish pasties? i soooo have a mental image of a chicken wearing tassels. LOL

I also find guitars to represent all that is awesome but don't know a lick about how to play. If you learn how you'll have to post a video or something for us.

Ha, ha. Pasty is pronounced like past, not paste. :)

@ vntgbabe ROFLMAO!!!!

@cristina... holy cow! how did you manage to break your arm that many times before you turned 5!!!??? :-O

@lady_arndt I was klutzy! First one I can't remember. Second I was in the backyard and was scared by a barking dog and fell on a little divider between the hedge and the rest of the yard. Third one, I was climbing up my swingset slide and fell. It was made of metal and I fell right on one of the legs, that sat parallel to the ground. That one was bad. It almost broke both bones all the way across. SO, my arm was majorly bent between my elbow and wrist. They wound up having to break it all the way in the ER.

*ouch!*

being a klutz myself, I'm surprised I never had to go to the ER for accidents. I did once put a rock in my nose though as a little girl. Yeah... I can't explain that one! ;)

@cristina - I'm a hillbilly. We say vi-een-ies for vienna sausages. :-)

I don't know, Cristina...Have you seen/tried Balut? It makes me squeamish.

Mmm...I love Cornish pasties! I pretty much lived on them last time I was in Europe! And, I love your Randomness list, too--it always makes me laugh.

Also, I don't know if you've tried Durian. That might make you re-consider your single-item food aversion.

oh dear. my mom used to eat balut! i will never ever try it. lol.

Or geoduck. Just looking at that makes me laugh/cringe at the same time. I don't know how anyone could eat that.

@gregsgal that is rough. No way I could put that in my body.

oh god, balut is so disgusting. I would never try it.

Durian is a smelly smell fruit, but I don't mind eating it. I think it has the texture of raw bread dough.

I haven't ever eaten balut, but my husband did when he was in the Philippines.

The whole idea of balut is highly disturbing to me.

What's balut?

"A balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell...Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack..."

And, I won't post the picture here, but here is a link to one

OH, poor baby chicks! That's just disgusting...now I'm sad.

I play it safe with everything I eat. The most exotic thing that I eat is Menudo - which I love, but I never eat the tripe (which is cow's intestines and very slimy).
My husband once ate cubed cow's blood, like jello, in Thailand and also a bunch of different fried beetles and such. *bleck*

I'm sorry I made you sad, Weslee! : (

It's not you who makes me sad! =)
Seriously, who comes up with an idea like that to eat??

I love cornish pasties! I need to learn how to make them or go back to England to get some, which is tempting :)

@northsford... O_o

you're kidding right?

@lady_arndt Ha, ha! I know, right!

Sorry, guys, a weird deleted comment from some phisher who wanted "all my data." :)

Haha! I saw that. At least they were honest about it... : D

But, Cristina! I want ALL of your data first. :-(

@mamor Let's grab lunch and I will share all my data with you. All of it.

lol "data"

@cristina: It's a date!

It's a data date!

it made me smile when you said people call you a grandma for your style! hah.i own a guitar and took lessons, but never followed through. so i dont know how to play and it just kinda sits there...in my closet.

Your Randomness list is the King of all Kaboodle lists :) Good call on the food, soggy lettuce makes me nauseous.

I agree with @nocreativity. I don't think I have one item that hasn't already been added by you in your "randomness" list.

Hey, who took that picture of you?

"Grandma"
Dude, grandma-sexy is totally awesome xD I have a friend who is into that and she always looks chic to me <3
