That Night
hello ladies. i was just wondering if any of you could be of any help. im looking for a gift to bring to a bachelorette party this weekend. the bride to be is a chilhood best friend of mine. and im stuck! its even harder to decide since i dont have much money. i know usually people give things that specifically make the bride feel sexy [lingerie//sleepwear] or maybe fun little toys for her and her husband. unfortunately, the few cute things ive seen on victoriassecret.com have been rather expensive. :[ i was thinking of getting a cute pj set from target. maybe a pink or coral color. or maybe ivory and light blue. just a small tank top and shorts. any other ideas? (remember im on a tight budget! around $40 or less.) thank you!

  • She's going to get a butt-load of lingerie. How about a spa gift certificate or something. Report Spam Posted by cristina at 5:39 PM on 08/24/09

  • If you do want to get lingerie, check out 3wishes.com - they have some reasonable stuff and offer free shipping on all orders. Not as cute or classy as the VS stuff, but I've found some things I like there. Also, you could always get her a Kama Sutra book- some bookstores even have little book kits that come with feathers and sugar dust - that's what I gave a friend for hers, a mini book kit. Or, maybe a couples massage book - which are available in tame and racy massage varieties. Report Spam Posted by agauthier79 at 5:53 PM on 08/24/09

  • T-shirt that says " He went to Jared"...heheor thishttp://tinyurl.com/kwkdq4 Report Spam Posted by atalina_08 at 5:55 PM on 08/24/09

  • I have given really silly sexy gifts because the bride always gets so much lingerie and I think the tradition is silly. A sexy costume, massage oils, a bullwhip and cuffs once. Another girl gave a nice copy of the Kama Sutra at once bachelorette party I went to. Report Spam Posted by lavabunny at 7:47 PM on 08/24/09

  • Do you have a Burlington Coat Factory nearby? They have gorgeous lingerie sets for about $10-15. Report Spam Posted by vlfashionhouse (vielerabathbody.com) at 6:34 AM on 08/25/09

  • @everyone, :] thank you for the suggestions so far. ill probably go with the kama sutra book. and maybe some kind of massage oil. the book kit sounds cute. i might check tonight to see if barnes and noble has something like that. and i do have a burlington close..ill have to check out the sets they have, although it is true she will be getting a ton im sure. thanks ladies, i appreciate your input. :] Report Spam Posted by cupcakexo at 7:34 AM on 08/25/09

  • I think you should give her a spa certificate or gift card. I can't think if anything else! Sorry :( Report Spam Posted by ultranerd101 at 4:19 PM on 08/25/09

  • actually, you are the second person to suggest that. i know spas can be kinda pricey but maybe i can just get her a gift card for a nice salon like mario tricocci to get her nails done or something..ehhh im cutting it so close! i always wait till last minute on everything. :\ Report Spam Posted by cupcakexo at 4:58 PM on 08/25/09

  • How much are you looking to spend? I always like to give the silly gifts too. Pure Romance (a company that does in home parties - my SIL works for them) sells all sorts of oils, creams, and other "fun" items that are pretty inexpensive if you wanted to make her a gift basket or something like that. If you want my SIL's website, let me know. She has a pretty good stock on hand and can usually get it shipped out pretty quickly. If you decide you want to do some cute lingerie, check out Target. They have at least 3 different sets that I adore right now. One that I'm thinking of buying is this really pretty deep maroon color. There's underwear with removeable garters, a chemise, and bra. The most expensive thing is the chemise and I think it's about $25.00. There's also a couple of bra/undie sets that are pretty too. All three have this vintage look about them that I love. I don't know if Chicago has a citydeals.com site or not, but if there is, you can usually get good deals on day spa gift certificates (sometimes 1/2 price). • @gregsgal, im looking to spend under $40. im so broke right now. that website pure romance has some really great stuff! i just checked it out. i went to one of those toy parties and ive got to say, the packaging and the look of the pure romance products is a lot cuter and more appealing. theres definitely some things id like to get her from there, but id definitely be spending $40 or more. target does have some cute sets, im thinking i will stop there tomorrow. im pretty sure thats what im going to get since i dont have that much time. and maybe the kama sutra book or something else to go with it. thanks for your help! • I have many people come into Bath & Body Works and buy gift sets for brides. Most of our sets are less than $40. I also like the gift certificate idea. Report Spam Posted by jessicachanel at 7:30 PM on 08/25/09

  • I think this book would be a really cute gift for a bachelorette party: http://www.amazon.com/All-About-Us-Philipp-Keel/dp/0767905016 - I would love to get something like that as a gift, and it would be a timeless keepsake for them. I personally do not feel like you need to spend a lot of money for the bachelorette party gift, and this book is only 11 bucks yet still totally awesome (or you could always throw in something else, like the stuff Karma Sutra makes: http://www.amazon.com/s.html/ref=bl_sr_hpc?ie=UTF8&node=3760931&brand=Kama%20Sutra - I love their packaging). If you just wrapped it up in a box with pretty packaging and a thoughtful card you really wouldn't need to get anything else. I know that if you order something from amazon you can see when the item would arrive depending on which shipping you choose in case you are on a tight time frame. Oh, and I hope you have a blast at the party! Report Spam Posted by hophead at 7:46 PM on 08/25/09

  • I love the idea of a sexy book. The Guide to Getting It On is a classic ;) Report Spam Posted by jinnyjinn at 7:49 PM on 08/25/09

  • @jinnyjinn The illustrations are priceless! Report Spam Posted by cristina at 7:55 PM on 08/25/09

  • @cristina - Haha! For sure! Like I said, "classic." ;) Report Spam Posted by jinnyjinn at 8:00 PM on 08/25/09

  • Sorry...I completely missed where you said $40 or less in your original post. *smacks forehead* I like Hophead's ideas too. :) Report Spam Posted by gregsgal at 8:11 PM on 08/25/09

  • @hophead, thank you for the suggestions!! i checked out that book and im most likely getting that with a little something else. :] that book is really cute. about getting to know more of each other. and it is a good price. also i loved the packaging with the kama sutra stuff, but couldnt find anything that really stood out for a gift. i was finding things i liked for me, hahah. sweet almond oil sounds nice! ;] thanks again. @jinnyjinn, the illustrations are priceless. =] Report Spam Posted by cupcakexo at 6:35 AM on 08/26/09

  • Take a look at this book if you're still looking for ideas :) http://www.amazon.com/101-Nights-Grrreat-Sex-Seductions/dp/0962962813/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251479474&sr=8-2 Report Spam Posted by soofaye at 10:13 AM on 08/28/09

  • @soofaye, that book looks awesome! i love the cover. i actually already got her gift. its kinda cute..http://www.amazon.com/Kama-Sutra-Deck-Ways-Lover/dp/0811838455/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251492780&sr=1-1 they are cards, but the illustrations are really cute on them and the sayings too. i also got her a cute pair of lace maroonish color undies. its a small gift, but really cute. :] Report Spam Posted by cupcakexo at 2:04 PM on 08/28/09

  • Oops, I'm a bit late with this. I'd feel really silly recieving those kind of gifts, maybe I'm just a prude! I like the spa gift certificate idea the best, from a personal point of view. I'm sure the bride will love the gift you got her though! Report Spam Posted by x0xsharicex0x at 2:10 PM on 08/29/09

  • @x0xsharicex0x, i know what you mean! id feel a little uncomfortable too. just because im really shy with these things i guess. when i was at barnes and noble i was in the "sex book" part of the aisle and i was like blushing looking at some of the things they had. ;] overall though, the party was last night and she seemed to really enjoy everything she got. [which was a LOT of lingerie.] Report Spam Posted by cupcakexo at 4:13 PM on 08/30/09

  • Yeah, I get quite shy too. And I'd be quite embarassed to be sat with like older female relatives, opening those kind of presents. Glad the party was a success! Report Spam Posted by x0xsharicex0x at 3:18 PM on 08/31/09
