some of you may recall my blog from a little over a year ago when i was planning my trip to new york. well i was supposed to be going in october of last year but my funds wouldnt allow me. ;-\ luckily, i finally made it there this year!!! well july 3-7th to be exact. i spent 5 days in new york. mostly in staten island but me and my sister took the staten island ferry into nyc. i have to say even with the heat wave (the temp. hit a record of 103 degrees on wednesday!) we made it through and i had one of the most fun experiences of my life. i saw so much and did so much. i had a hard time choosing just 3 pictures of around the 50 that i took.
heres a rundown of the things i did in nyc:
Day One.
heres a rundown of the things i did in nyc:
Day One.
- took Staten Island ferry to nyc, got a fantastic view of the statue of liberty. (!! one of my fave things to see)
- walked through Chinatown and Little Italy (little italy, first picture above-so cute!) ate a mini trio of desserts at a cafe
- walked halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge (third picture is a view from the bridge)
- ate at this restaurant called Max Brennars (omg. i loved the place. adorable atmosphere and yummy food.)
- shopped in the area of Union Square and then also 5th Ave. (so many shops and stores galore!)
- checked into Empire Hotel. (we got a hotel for just one night in the city because we were staying in Staten Island) the hotel was so chic.
- went to Richard Rogers Theatre for Broadway Musical-In the Heights (amazing show, singing, dancing, and also very funny!)
Day Two.
- hit up Magnolia Bakery (yummy red velvet!! and classic vanilla, had delicious iced coffee)
- walked around Rockefellar Center
- St. Pats Cathedral (so intricate and beautiful)
- NY Library (so beautiful inside, bonus that SATC scene was taped there!)
- walked around Bryant Park (one of my fave. spots of the city)
- went to Madame Tousads wax museum (so fun and worth the money! me and my sister took so many fun pictures)
- walked a little through Central Park (the heat was really getting to me by this point, it was so beautiful there though)
- went to Empire State Building (checked out both observation decks. one was indoors at the 96th floor i believe and the other was inside at the 102nd floor. what an amazing view of the city!!)
in between all that we stopped at cafes, restaurants, and stores. i loved this one store that @kaylax3 told me about last year called Gem Story. all jewelry is $2.99! (gasp!) i got a couple pairs of earrings. they may only last a few uses-but totally worth it. from ceiling to floor that place is covered in cute earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings and more!
i am exhausted, but i cant wait to get back there!! 5 days was just barely enough to fit everything in. ;]
thanks for reading. <3
