Relic® Faux-Snakeskin Laptop Tote - Review

3 ›
Nov 12, 2008 in Fashion
I got this bag on sale at Kohl's on a whim the other day, mostly because the price was great (I got it for $27, not $33 as the website link says) and I *really* wanted a computer bag that didn't look so business-y. Or black. Or stupid. Or cheap.

I had it in the back of my mind that I wanted a more fashionable computer tote because
a) I now have two laptops that I need to carry with me at any given time (but not at the same time, obviously)
b) I own a fashion-related business and I like to look fashionable
c) Who wouldn't want to carry their computer in a bag that looks great with any outfit?

I had to run by Kohl's for some socks (also on sale! $1.00/pair....Halloween socks, which I love to wear all year long), and while browsing the store to see what else was on sale, I saw this bag.

I then remembered my want of a more fashionable computer bag and it was if a choir of angels were singing over it. It was red, pretty sturdy, had many extras (makeup bag, cell phone tote), and it was not so big that it was obnoxious. The price tag said $50 and I was about to cry until I saw the "on-sale" sign and squeed with delight. $27, IMO, is not terrible for a bag with all the fixins, especially computer totes which can be expensive.

The laptop sleeve fits perfectly inside without overcrowding the rest of the bag and, as an added bonus, there is a zippered pouch adhered to the inside, complete with pen holders and pockets for cards. While I never store my bank cards inside a bag, it's useful for business cards (which I receive regularly) and the pouch inside is perfect for my chapstick and keys. Goodness knows I lose those items often in a large bag.

The makeup tote fits all of my items for freshening up (sample perfume, powder compact, lipstick, etc) and is perfect for hiding feminine products.

And the best thing I love about this bag is I don't lose anything in it. I have a lot of other big purses that seem to be a vacuous void for most of my stuff. I can't ever find my keys in the blackhole that is my other large purse. There is a key ring built inside this, also, so I can hook my keys on it. No lost keys! Yay!

I've received a lot of compliments on this bag already. And it's pretty hot. But the fact that is so functional on top of looking hot is what sold me on it. Also, the price, for me, wasn't bad at all.

I love this bag. Plain and simple.

[ETA] Since the sleeve is removable, this bag can double as a carry-on, an overnight bag, or just a really big purse!

  • I have learned that at Kohl's it's a good idea to always do a price check on anything I might sort of want. Clearance stuff is frequently cheaper than marked and sometimes there are temporary sales on things and they forget to put the sign up. Cute bag! • Yeah, ditto what aliatstrut said. That is so true. I've bought sweaters there on clearance that were less than half the clearance price already marked. Report Spam Posted by lamerchick at 12:45 PM on 11/12/08

  • Kohl's is always full of surprises like that. Even when I'm lazy and almost buy something at full price *gasp*, (but not expensive stuff) it ends up being on sale. I never know how much something is. I was just so thankful this bag was priced to my advantage! Report Spam Posted by thecessa (LuuLay, Inc -- The Entophilezzz!) at 1:02 PM on 11/12/08
