Cute!! Love the socks peeking out of the boots. Sweater-wise, did you try a basic black or grey slightly cropped cardigan? Not the really short ones, but the not the standard length. My other thought would be pairing it with a boyfriend cardigan, then maybe a belt over the outside of the sweater, but that might cover the dress too much. Maybe an unbuttoned boyfriend cardigan would work, or a sweater duster...hmmm

Do you have a light-weight blazer or cropped blazer?

I tried a black 3/4 sleeve shrug like sweater, & a average length long sleeve grey cardigan. I wasn't feeling either. I was thinking a belt but didn't have a good one handy. I don't have any blazers. I usually feel like they don't look right on me.

try a boyfriend blazer or a leather motorcycle jacket. Add some color with a scarf and a chunky watch or bracelet

May not be what you're looking for, but I'd say a neon yellow or pink accessory or jacket/sweater would kick this up a notch.

I'd try a belt in a color you'd notice. Lately I've really liked that cognac brown with these kinds of plaid dresses. I love the boots and socks combo with this!
