Ruffle My Feathers

Jun 3, 2008 in Style and Fashion
Arden B. - Ruffle Front...
Okay, so this is about ruffles, and has really nothing to do with feathers.  Birds freak me out.

For as long as I can remember I have detested ruffles on clothing.  They just seemed so fussy and over the top.

But now, much like the other trends I have mentioned, the more I see them... the more I like them.  I'm going to blame it on the purchase of this coat: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/kimchi-blue-ruffle-collar-coat-3 . I adore it.  It's so fun.  It made me associate ruffles with fun, I suppose.

I am sad to say that this may be the only clothing item I currently own that has ruffles.  Oh!  Aside from a pink dress I bought at H&M that is going back because it makes me look like I am a big, pink sack of potatoes.

**I forgot I also purchased these shoes recently: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/charlotte-russe--ruffle-ballet-flats-dark-purple

I saw this shirt when you added it to your list, I love it. I pretty much agree with you right on about the ruffles. (Does this mean we both will want fringed jackets, bags and shoes soon?)

Oh, and I'm scared of birds too.
and fish.

No fringe! Ever! haha Though I did see a girl with fringe sandals on Chictopia. They weren't too bad on her. Not something I would wear though.

Sure... Thats what you say now, thats what I say as well. I also said that I'd NEVER wear pointed toe shoes, skinny jeans, gladiator sandals, gold jewelry, etc...
;)

I never gave in to the pointed toes! Or gold jewelry! I am in control haha.

I just gave into gold jewelry last weekend. I'm wearing the first gold jewelry in years in the pictures from my weekend recap.
Clearly, I'm out of control!

I'm all about the ruffles. I was looking at my blouses list the other day and thinking to myself, "Damn, nearly all these tops have ruffles." :)

I used to hate ruffles too, but basically everything I have bought this year has some sort of ruffle on it.

I actually like ruffles (if they're tastefully done) but anything with ruffles across the chest would make me look like a sad, watered down, less twangy version of Dolly Parton.
