Mac Book

Jun 9, 2009 in Gadgets and Gizmos
New MacBook
I've heard that Macs are really good but I'm seriously not sure. I don't have a very good brain sometimes even though I've tested them out on my friend's Macs and they seem really good. I so don't know why I don't have one.

Reasons why Mac Books are good:

1. They are easy to use and to find stuff on them.
2. They have a dashboard so that you can have a dictionary and some games there.
3. They have user names and passwords so that people can't go into them. (same thing with PC but Mac Books seem easier)
4. You can carry them around easily.

Reasons why Mac Books are bad:

1. They are expensive!
2. You can forget your password and then you can't get in.
3. They have a lot of buttons and different windows
4. A lot of Macs are slow.

Oh well, they still seem really good and they are really popular where I know them. :)

Another big reason to get a Mac book or any Mac for that matter is that you can learn how to do things in a shorter period of time since the way it is laid out is more logical than on PC's. For example you can do video conferencing with your friends right out of the box. Can't do that on a PC.

Mac's cost more because they do more things and have better hardware. I have a mac laptop that is 10 years old, has never had any part replaced, and the only change I made to it was adding RAM a few years ago. Solidly built so they last a long time. On average, Mac users keep their machines about 2.5 years longer than PC users.

Apple support is great, you can schedule a training session in an apple store for free if you buy the support package. I think it's 100 bucks extra. regular warranty support is great but only lasts a year. -Victor

The macbook laptop runs very cool compared to most laptops. Also, there are no vents where super-heated air blows out. While I'm sure it uses a fan, I've never audibly actually heard it run or felt a stream of warm air from it. I think it may vent through ports and the keyboard but it runs cool enough that you don't notice it. Edited to add: it does get rather warm when watching high resolution video, but stays quite cool when web browsing or using normal office apps. Even when very warm, the fan is still quiet (the only way to actually hear the fan is to hold it near your ear). Laptop Notebook Sales
The macbook is more expensive than similarly spec'd Windows machines but I feel that it's worth the money. I'm a very satisfied Mac switcher.
