"But I have nothing to wear!"

Did you see this article today in the NYT? Six Items or Less is a style experiment that presented a monster challenge of wearing only 6 items for 31 days.

They refer to the experience as a "shopping diet" - and I'm guessing it's something that many women relate to in terms of over-shopping and over-buying. (Thank goodness for Kaboodle - it keeps us in line!).

The article featured 4 brave closet-fasters: 3 women..,and 1 man! Definitely check out the pictures of their outfits. They are all careful and creative - so they never looked sloppy or repetitive!

Do you think you could slim down on your shopping? What six pieces would you use to make up an entire wardrobe?

  • Great article! Only picking six pieces would be hard. It would be like being on Survivor! I could do it if there were a cash reward in the end! Then I would go shopping with the money! Report Spam Posted by clothesminded at 8:55 AM on 07/22/10

  • if it were the 'right' six items.. maybe but I get bored fairly quickly...my items: jeans, black pants, skirt, dress, some cute top, jacket - I mean do the six items include shoes?? hahaha I would need at least one pair of heels and one pair of sneakers...now if it could be 8 items- I would toss in a hoodie and another shirt (so I would have one dressy and one casual shirt in the mix) Report Spam Posted by sweetshorty at 9:05 AM on 07/22/10

  • I like DETAILS on my clothes so they arent boring. I would feel so blah yawn with only 6 things all in similar colors Report Spam Posted by earthangel67 at 12:31 PM on 07/22/10
