I was at a friend's hours for the first time this weekend for her baby's birthday party. When it came time to dispose of an empty water bottle, I wasn't sure what to do with it. I saw a trash can, but I didn't know if I was supposed to recycle it—or if the receptacle I saw was a recycling bin after all. If my friend had had these clever vinyl decals ($9 for the set in your choice of color) from Etsy seller Tasty Suite, there would have been no confusion. Plus, they can perk up an otherwise ordinary trash can. Win-win!
Far be it from us to question the existence of anything from a company called Lush Life. We love a good adult beverage here at Kaboodle HQ, so we're definitely digging the Shot Carver ($18 at Amazon). The small metal gizmo removes chunks of apples, pears, and other hard fruits to create room for a shot of booze (or fruit juice for kids!). You can even use it to create a hole to place a bottle of vodka in a watermelon. Happy (responsible, of course!) drinking!
If you think lounging in the pool can't get any more awesome, think again. This summer you can float around the water in an inflatable donut—and who wouldn't want to do that! The four-foot-wide sprinkled cake is easy to inflate and will provide hours of relaxing amusement this season. Love it!
As much as we love classy and fancy home goods, sometimes we just want something whimsical, guaranteed to make us laugh. Nothing could be better suited to the purpose than these hilarious banana- and pickle-shaped wine bottle stoppers from Fred ($8 each). Crack open a bottle of wine at your next party and bust out one of these to start everyone immediately giggling and talking. We promise that's what will happen!
We love olives and they're a great thing to put out at a party, but the trouble is, what do your guests do with the pits? Putting out a separate receptacle that ends up full of discarded olive pits is, let's face it, kind of gross. The Sombrerou Dish ($68) from designer Mauricio Lara is an ingenious solution! The cone-shaped center portion is open at the top so folks can simply drop their pits inside, where they'll be hidden from view. Love it!
