Report Spam

A few things:

1. Happy New Years!... But isn't this the year the Mayan's predicted would be the end of the world? Have you prepared at all? We've put a couple of kits together with some essentials. But this isn't the most exciting topic for most and can be talked about later...

2. The Rose Bowl 2012: Congratulations to the Oregon Ducks. I'm not a big football fan but call Oregon home but attend University of Wisconsin. I think it's sad that the badgers lost another Rose Bowl but can't get over the Ducks' pewter helmets. I thought they looked pretty fly but the rest of the uniform pretty cocky. Looking at some photo campaigns my opinion looked justified, but then I realized it was a Nike campaign (read and get a chuckle from this and it's comments here). Their helmets are still really cool. You can see more of what I'm talking about here.

3. Toms is coming out with ballet flats! You can sign up for notification when they actually become available here (sorry if this is old news to you, it's new to me as of a few days ago). I'm happy that they're venturing into more stylish areas. Unfortunately, I'm always telling myself that I'll buy some cheap shoes and send them somewhere, but know that I probably never will. Toms offers the convenience of doing everything involved with a shoe purchase for myself.

So, when Oregon first unveiled those "stormtrooper" uniforms I thought they were black. I actually thought they were kind of cool (especially the gloves). I like the shiny helmet but I did wonder whether it would interfer with the game on a sunny day (ha, ha). The opponents red and white uniforms are a nice combination of old and new. Overall, I prefer the red and white. Maybe that's because my husband is a Huskers fan and I'm accustomed to seeing red and white on the screen. BTW, my hubby gets mad when I comment on football uniforms. The way I see it, the teams wouldn't spend tens of thousands of dollars on the darn things if they didn't want anyone to notice them.
