My spin on the oh so popular
ilykthx blogazine post. (p.s. the third pic was taken by my two-year-old. That's why it was taken from so low. Pretty good photog though, eh?)
Personal Stuffs:
How tall are you?5’ 3-ish”
What is your shoe size?8 ½, after baby :-/
What color is your hair?Black, with reddish brown streaks and highlights.
What is your ethnicity?About 50% Filipino, ~25% Chinese, ~25% Spanish, and the other "about" is a mix of a lot of other things (so my mother tells me). But I call myself Filipino (the majority. Duh, right?).
Where do you live?Currently in sunny Hillsboro, Oregon.
Style:
What is your favorite online shopping website?Kaboodle, duh! ;) I try to always checkout
retailmenot.com to see what kind of super coupons I can get. I got my daughter's toy kitchen, which retailed for $200+) for 90-some dollars with that sites help!
How would you describe your style? I love fancy things but am really a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Though I love big hair, heavy makeup, and cute clothes, I rarely have the time, energy and/or budget for it.
What's your favorite shoe style?Flip flops. Easy on and off, and no socks required (I say "required" because we all know that some people still wear them. Hence,
flip flop socks). Plus, I love clothes but actually hate being fully dressed.
K Lists:
Which list would you say you add to the most?My
Rhapsody in Plume list is the longest but I think I'm pretty much done with that one. It was kind of a binge. But, though my
Style & Fashion - Dresses is shorter, it seems that I find things to add to it on a regular basis.
Which of your lists is your personal favorite?Gosh, that's hard to say since I have so many that I love. But my top three faves are:
Better World,
If I Had a Buzzillion Dollars,
Sensitive Girls (& Boys) (it got me into the Gloss Kit).
What is your one pet peeve in lists?Extremely long lists.
What do you always make sure to do with your lists?Put the items in the correct list. If not, they go in my
Misc . . . list to get organized later.
Favorites:
What is your favorite food?I love sushi and sashimi! Though, if I eat too much of it, it does weird things to me. :(
What is your favorite drink?A good mango lassi. YuUm! From the restaurants though. I can't seem to make them as good at home.
What is your favorite color?I'm a hot pink kinda girl. Though not too much of what I own is in that color. I like to wear warmer colors (I read that it's suppose to compliment my skin tone :P)
What is your favorite dessert?Chocolate Fondue. I could eat it by the spoonful!
5 Random Facts (plus some)
1. When I was about three-ish, I got into my mother's purse and sprayed pepper spray on me, thinking it was perfume. Not fun.
2. I was in the US Navy for almost 9 years and think I had a pretty successful run at it.
3. I was the first female Coal-fired Boiler "Control Operator" (they sit in the Control Room monitoring different parameters for a power plant) in the mid-west. Or so they told me (people seem to tell me a lot of things, but I don't really have any confirmation of it :P).
4. Finding my spirituality/spiritual side is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.
5. My husband is a foot taller than I am.
6. I completely relate to the awkwardness in My So Called Life and Napoleon Dynamite. In high school and now.
7. I'm jealous of the people that can keep up with all of their Kaboodle requests, comments, and such.
Comments (28)
I know what you mean about keeping up! I can never seem to keep up with all the comments and requests myself, haha.
I'm glad you did this. Your daughter is an excellent photog. I *used* to be one of those people who kept up with everything. I just can't anymore. It has gotten so overwhelming. :( It would be a full time job by itself.
Thanks for sharing this with me! I know what you mean about keeping up with Kaboodle requests and what not. I have a huge amount of them that are just sitting there, in cyber-space, waiting to be dealt with!
Aw, I love your Rhapsody in Plume list. Who doesn't love peacock feathers? I also adore your first picture. We're big into dressing up too, so it's nice to see others who get into it. : )
Oh...I meant "we're big into dressing up for Halloween too" not just randomly dressing up...
Lol at gregsgal. :)
This is an awesome one! SO many interesting facts. It's so cool that you were in the navy!
I just didn't want you all to think that Greg and I are constantly dressing up in crazy costumes just for kicks. ; ]
I'm so impressed that your two year old took that photo. I think that's better than I could do now. Your random facts are so interesting! The pepper spray, ouch...
I'm glad you took the time to do this! I hope you are enjoying Hillsboro. =)
This is a really great post! So much cool stuff to know about you. I *loved* My So Called Life. Takes me back!
This was so fun to read! You and your hubby are adorable. What's a mango lassi? I'll have to check it out!
This was a great post! I love a good mango lassi! And I love your pictures.
@lavabunny @w1drwomn If you ever get bored of mango lassi, you can always try the laughing lassi at Dosa http://dosasf.com/download/DOSASpiceRouteCocktailsFillmore.pdf
@marrc Actually, on my list Cocktails I do have recipes for some hard lassis, but I've never made one myself. I have tried one and yummy.
WOW such beautiful pictures of you and your family.
It was really nice reading about you. You are such an amazing person.
Such a great blog & great pictures.
I actually had sushi for my first time a couple months ago! It was delicious!
I am also a huge fan of big hair. The more volume the better :)
The Misc. is a great idea!
Great post! I know what you mean about the keeping up thing! I cant do it! If i leave for a few days, my inbox is overflowing, and i disabled the comment after thing lol
thats great that you were in the navy ..im actually considering joinging the air force within the next year or so
Okay, I read your shoe size and laughed. That happened to me too with my first pregnancy. Except it only happened on one side!! So now, everything is snug on one foot. lol
I too am a mix of races, it's hard to remember them all. My mom used to tell me: just say you're part of the Human race.
P.S. Love Sushi, it's by far my favorite too.
You are gorgeous, lady! :-) And thank you for serving our country for nine years! That is awesome & def not an easy job! :-)
@gregsgal: Grrrr, baby :). It's okay if you dress up for those "special" moments. We won't tell anyone ;). Between you, me, and the rest of our closest Kaboodle friends: I suggested to my hubby that we get dressed up in our old uniforms and play Navy. He wasn't as excited about the idea as I was, lol.
@lamerchick @nocreativity: Yeah, we're pretty impressed with her too. I almost trust her as much as my mother and husband. Those two like to chop off heads.
@ilykthx @alysiawho @konde1kn: Thanks for mentioning my military service! I try to tell people I'm in the Navy because it makes me sound interesting and not just some boring SAHM :P.
@lnse0024: You go girl! I'm with you on the bigger the better! I miss the days of messy bed head. And I'm so glad you tried sushi! I find that so many people are afraid of it.
@dreapuff: omg, how do you disable the comment after thing?! You must tell. I tried but couldn't find it. I looove comments, but I don't know what is appropriate and what not. I have comments that sit and then wonder if it's appropriate to comment after such a long time. -OR- if some comments about how they like something or respond to something I posted, do you respond with a silly little comment stating you agree with, a little smiley face, etc . . I just don't know! It's weird that even with strangers that I will never meet that I feel all awkward like a prepubescent teenager (when I'm nearly 30! - omg, some of you are teenager, aren't you?! lol)
@weslee: One foot! Oh my. And my grandmother use to tell me "American."
I love that your back home! We get to learn about each other all over again! I love you guys!
