Sims 3 Mania!

Jun 20, 2009
Hey, everyone.  I thought it would be fun to make a place where people can showcase their favorite Sims 3 stuff they've created!  Either take a screen shot and post it below, or upload it to the exchange so we can all download it!

The pictures are of a house that I just made.  I used CHEAT CODES to get plenty of money.  I like making houses more than actually playing the game, although 3 is much better gameplay wise over 1 and 2.  In the second pic, I wanted to show something that I had seen on a real house, and I liked it, so I recreated it Sims style.  I like making the outcoves like that, but I had never thought to put a huge window on it, and have some decorative pillars there.

Here are the full size images of the ones above:

yay! just bought it today...finally
it's better than i thought
i made characters from "one tree hill", a few celebs, and a few kaboodlers, and me

You made Kaboodlers?! That's awesome! What a good idea :-)

is sims 3 better all in all? i have 2 and i love it!

In 3 you can angle stuff diagonally (furniture or anything really), they can squeeze by things much better, and you can actually have more than one thing on a table at a time. If your computer can handle it, go with 3, it's 50x better than 2.

oh it sounds fun and the house looks really cool

Wow.. it's a awesome house that you made of. U had a great talent. ^^
I play the sims 2, maybe it's time to change with sims 3.
I used cheat codes too. LOL

Steve, don't get me started. The Sims 3 is amazing. Not sure what my glitch is, but I had a great time playing for the 5 days it worked for me. I made Jim Morrison (in the late days). He was awesome. I had also planned on making some kaboodler sims! Just gotta get my game working again! Arg.

me too, the sims is kinda unplaybale if i dont have the cheats
Epic!

I actually did extremely well making a hermit that ate other peoples picnic baskets, dug through other sims trash cans, and fished for a living. So far he's got about $50k in the bank, and has one of the best perks you can get. PS. He sleeps on the beach sometimes, lol

Being that I have never played this game I don't know if this is possible but since I study Sociology would it be possible to go against convention in this game.

For example create a group of marauding bikers?
I think greater stress on characters would really make the game more dynamic.

i had almost all the expansion packs for sims 2, so although i'm loving sims 3, the interactions still seem a little limited to me, so i'm looking forward to whatever expansions they create. also, i don't like how they did away with the numbered system for relationships, trying to judge things by the green bar is a bit annoying. and i miss the purple whoohoo heart. this ugly red one has got to go. haha. other than all THAT i love all the other changes. babies and toddlers are less annoying now that you can feed them a bottle wherever, the angling is awesome, the building tools make everything so much easier.... and i find that i really don't have to cheat if i don't want to, there are so many ways to make money.

Yeah, making money is easy, but sometimes I don't have the patience if I just feel like building.

oh yeah, for building of course, i just meant for regular game play.

OMG I love the house you created!! I also love making houses better than actually playing with the characters and everything :)
I want the Sims 3 so baaaaaaaad!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, @Gabyee!

Your house looks great! I used to love building houses in the first Sims, but I've found building them in the second iteration to be more difficult. The staircases are terrible to work with.

I don't have the game yet (I'm still busy playing Sims 2), but I have been reading a blog that some guy has going about two of his characters. It had me cracking up at my desk yesterday. http://aliceandkev.wordpress.com/

HAha @lynnie482 - thanks for sharing that!

Now I really want to get it! You can even get cars? I use cheat codes also for Sims 2. Very Cool!

I wish I had Sims 3. I used to play my friends sims 2 and i used cheat codes, and i liked building more than playing too =]
@lynnie482, that blog is really interesting!

love the sims

I don't play, but I like your house! All this talk about Sims is kinda making me want to play, so that's good, right? : )

I bought it the other week. It's kind of sad though, my computer runs it so slow. The people inch along the screen, and it gets boring fast.

Yeah, it's very demanding of your system. Here are the minimum system requirements, but most likely you should shoot for better than minimum so you don't end up like @keeperofsouls.

Thanks for all the technical info. and I am so glad you blogged about this. My youngest daughter celebrates her 27th birthday on June 23rd and this is what she wants for her birthday. But she was worried that it might not work on her computer. I have Sims2 and I actually liked the original Sims better. I like designing inside and outside the houses and there aren't as many choices in Sims2 as I would like. BUT in the original Sims I bought my family a firepit and they went and made the fire too big and the house caught on fire and they just stood there jumping up and down until they all died in the fire...and I was not a happy camper about that. For our sociology Kaboodler, I recommend SimCity Societies....it is based entirely on various types of social groups. LOVE SIMS.

So I've never done SIMS but Patrick says I would like it...so I'm tempted to play. He's really into video games and half the time I'm like (yawn) okay you're killing zombies and god-knows-what in outer space. BTW, kabroskie, nice house!

No problem @paws72, and you should try it, @jinnyjinn. If you comp can handle 3, you should just start there.

I can't wait to get a comp that can handle this game! :)

Yeah, I was playing earlier, so much fun!

i'll have to try it out! im still stuck playing sims 2. i really want to buy it!
i also love making the houses! its so fun! those are really cool houses!
it looks like a fun game! ill need to get it soon! :D

I was hoping the patch they just released would solve my crashing problems, but nope. I have a desktop computer that is only 1 gig of RAM short, so I was thinking about buying two gigs and seeing if I can't just play the game on it. It makes me so bummed that I got to level 6 on my Jim Morrison rock start sim and then the crashing started and I can't play him. I wanted to see people ask for autographs and all that jazz!

I can't by this I built FLW's house "Falling Water" with Sims I, I am not allowed to buy Sims III. Fam, says no :)

Love it. Obsessed with it. I live in a French mansion at the moment.
