Quilling or some also call this twirling. This is a craft my mom and grandma taught me how to do this craft when I was in 4-H. A friend's my mom called me and ask me to make her daughter one I made one for her brother a few years earlier. She offered to pay me this time so I could use it for college.

This is how the idea I came up with this is the first picture is of an art project her daughter made in art class. Her mom asked if I could work it into the project. So I added things that meant a lot to her throughout high school. Her mom and dad were so happy with it she paid more than we agreed on. I looked at the check and was like this is wrong. She said I wish I could give more. I buried out a few things so I could share it with all of you. That's the only way they would give me permission to post this

Quilling is the use of thing slips of paper. Using a tool you twirl the paper and glued and shape the paper. The owl’s eyes are made of thicker paper cut little slits and then twirl it. These are a bit harder to make, but one of my favorites to make. The net I had to free hand I was very happy with it.

I saw some amazing quilling craft products on Etsy and was so impressed that I tried to find quilling kits at several different craft stores - Michaels, etc. No luck. I think if I want to try it I'd have to find a kit online - not that that's a problem or anything. Thanks for sharing this. It will get me motivated to try to find a quilling kit online. My friend's mother does quilling and when I graduated high school, she quilled and framed my graduation announcement with flowers of my school colors. She also does it with wedding announcements and they make great gifts. I love what you've done. I've never seen it done like that before.
