So whats the big deal?

Aeropostale
Abercrombie
Hollister Co.
Okay at my school if you dont wear abercrombie, hollister, aero, american eagle etc. you either have no  social life. have serious issues or aren't part of the preppy "in" crowd, well could somebody PUH-LEEZE tell me what made teens and preteens want this tiny little moose/eagle/seagull logo  on their clothes so BAD? Yes i have to admit i do follow this addictive line of clothes closley reciving daily newsletters and rushing to all their "big" sales in order to have a life, but i still dont quite understand the true fashion in the clothes they might look cool but if we stripped all the clothes of their little animal logos then would people still go GAGA of the opening of a store,a sale,or even a person wearing them to me it's a sign of status not a fashion statement.
So could somebody(ANYBODY)explain to me the reason these flimsy thin fabriced, stretchy, shirts, bottoms, bags, and even juwelry seem to have an impact on me and my friends wallets so much?
agree?disagree?or leave me a note.
                                                          luvs and hugs,

  • Its quiet simple you guys just want to fit in thats why you buy the clothes .... as for me i dunt wear those brands or any other brands for that matter, i can find the same clothes without the lil logo for way cheaper prices and thats what i go for .. the cheaper the clothes the more u can get.... hope that helped Report Spam Posted by jun3bug at 7:56 PM on 01/02/09

  • I think that, when you are in middle and high school, it's all about fitting in for a lot of people, which is why a lot of kids your age probably wear those brands. Ya know, the clothing is pretty basic and unassuming so I can see why. Just remember that things change as you get older, and fitting in and being popular doesnt mean a thing in the "real" world. Its always awesome to be yourself and let your individuality shine instead of following the herd. ;) Report Spam Posted by hophead at 7:22 AM on 01/03/09

  • yeah, i've noticed that too. :( i think it's also kind of a status symbol, because name-brand whatever is more expensive than generic. i used to follow that sort of thing, then just gave up and developed my own style. i get way more compliments now and feel much more original! just be confident with whatever you decide to do, and people naturally gravitate towards you. • i like hollister because it has a thin fit, not because of the logo. i only buy the items that do not brandish the logo in an obvious place, because that isn't what i'm buying the clothing for. as far as buying it to fit in, if people recognize the logo you are wearing, they can associate that with a pre-contrived idea of what kind of person wears such clothing therefore getting an instant conclusion if they like you or not with out having to actually talk to you.
