Roof Garden

Pavilion Veranda - Black
The Ape and I are thinking about utilizing our roof-top as additional garden space and were thinking along this line.

We'd like to add an entertainment area, and will add a spiral that leads up to the roof.  In addition we plan on a nice waterfall fountain.  And to incorporate many container plantings.

We know it's gonna take some construction.  Anyone with any experience?  Any ideas?

  • That is soooo dreamy! It's perfect for you. I love the spiral staircase and waterfall fountain, too. No construction experience though... yet. Report Spam Posted by lamerchick at 7:45 AM on 10/01/08

  • Ape owns Construction Company, but not in this area. I was also wondering about putting up a privacy fence around the perimeter of the roof? Anything is possible, this I believe. My main concern is with not causing mold, water damage problmes, and the roof withstanding weight. We are thinking industrial metal spiral because in the long run it would be easier to maintain than wood. And wood would rot without chemicals, no chemicals allowed. • *Just be careful that the gazebo is secured ie: Bad weather ~ you don't want a liability issue. I have gazebo like that in my yard (secured) yet it went airborne once in a storm. :( Other than that it is beautiful and I love relaxing there when I get the chance. I am sure you will enjoy yours as well! Report Spam Posted by waters_edge at 4:28 PM on 10/01/08

But it can be cleaned.waters_edge: : OOOOO didn't even get that far in thinking. Well we live on an acre so maybe it would not get far! lol. You know that Movie Fried Green Tomatoes?
