Country, Retro, or a little of Both?

Like Donny & Marie's song.. I'm a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll, and dammit, I can't choose which style I want for my kitchen!!!
My husband thinks I will get tired of the retro look, and well, he has been married to me for 7-years, so maybe he's right. But I love both looks, and I've been contemplating mixing both together somehow.
What do you think? Country, Retro, or a combination? If both, how would you design it??
Comment, help me by creating a styleboard of your version. any help will be welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance for putting up with my crazy rant.
OBTW: Here are my retro and country styleboards...

I love the country look - even when things start to get worn out, they still have that same homey feel. The retro style is cute, but I think that as things start getting broken in and have a bit of wear and tear they won't look as good.
Hmm...I agree with Lynnie about the retro stuff getting broken in and possibly not looking as good at that point. So, here's my thought...What if you did a combination of country and retro. Your table and chairs could be country with a few accessories here and there to continue the feel (like that bee honey jar - I love that thing) but also introduce some funky colored retro things, like flour jars and clocks or stainless steel somethings. Would that work? In my mind I think yes, but sometimes what I see in my head and what it actually looks like don't coincide with one another.
both. boom.

i really like the second one. :)
okay ..when talkin about style board..I like you retro board so pretty..But....i'd say the country style Is better.It would be awesome for the home.;)
I think you should just find things you are drawn to, not necessarily to find a "theme." As long as things are your style they will become cohesive without feeling forced. You'll have a lady_arndt kitchen!! :-)
I agree with vntgbabe. Go with what you like. Who cares if it's a bunch of different styles? It makes it uniquely you!
@aplyler, WOW! i really like the second too. thanks so much for the links!!!
@vntgbabe, i like the sound of a lady_arndt kitchen. LOL! ;D
Thank you all for your input! you're the best! xoxo
Well I still love the county kitchen look!!! : }
I like the country look, it's warm and homey.
I like the combo! Like some people said, the sturdy, wood country stuff holds up really well so it's great for furniture and then you can go nuts with country and retro accessories.
Whatever you like you should go with, but if i had the choice then it would be retro all the way
