When I first began this blog a few days ago, I sat there for about an hour trying to figure out what to write about. I couldn't think of any item or service I've used lately that I had enough to say about other than simple exclamations like "This ____ is awesome!" That's why I decided to just write about my PSP. It wasn't until yesterday that I remembered I could write about one of my favorite services in the entire world: Goozex!
You might remember seeing me mention Goozex on my main profile page. For those who haven't seen it, Goozex is a wonderful trading site where you can trade video games. It's great for those who play video games a lot, and it works wonderfully!
This is how it works: Each game has a certain value of points on Goozex. 100 points = $5. You find the games you no longer want by typing them into the search bar or browsing. After finding them, you click "Have It" and it gets added to your Offers list. Goozex matches you up with someone who has the game on their Request list, and asks if you would like to accept the trade. If you say yes, Goozex transfers the game's point value from the sender's account to yours, and you are given their address so you can mail it to them.
Then you find games that you want and click "Want It" so it gets added to your Request list. After Goozex matches you with someone, Goozex will take the game's point value as well as a "Trade" from you.Trades are the only thing you ever have to pay Goozex, and they are $1 each. The sender will mail you the game within 1-3 days.
You can also buy points if you'd like, if you don't have any games to send out. Goozex has a feedback system, a forum, and a messaging system. You can put games on hold if you're not sure you want to send/receive them yet. Sadly there's no option for the sender to put the game's condition, but I have received 20+ games and the only time a package wasn't in excellent condition was when a game came with a pretty beat-up manual.
I haven't completely stopped going to GameStop, just because of the fact that new game releases DO take a while to receive on Goozex. But though I may buy a game from the store here and there, never again will I go there to trade my games. It's a rip off when they'll only take your still-popular game for $15 at most, while you have to pay $35 to buy a used copy of it! At Goozex, the point value is the same for whether you send or receive a game. So your games will keep most of their worth!
I think you all should definitely check it out. Feel free to comment if you have any questions. And don't forget to refer me!! Do so by clicking here before you sign up: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/join.asp?idr=4872527192 . Thanks for reading!
Edit (7/14/09): July 10th was Goozex's 3rd birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GOOZEX!!!
xoxo,
