(1)Here in NJ my weekend unfortunately turned out to be much different than I had planned. Luckily, the Halloween party my boyfriend and I had on Friday went well and everyone had a good time. I wore the cupid costume I mentioned in my previous post and is pictured above. I had a bow and arrow too but I was running around so much doing "host-ly" things I didn't have time to carry it with me.
Then Saturday morning it started to snow and I thought maybe the weather people were over exaggerating about getting 12 inches of snow. It ended up being a disaster. So many trees and wires are down. Power has been out. It has not been fun, especially for October.
On a brighter note, I wanted to share some pictures of our new furniture/decor. It's still a work in progress and will slowly come together but here are a couple pictures so far.
(2)The middle picture is of an entry way mission style table we bought unfinished. I was obsessed with the idea of getting a blue table for the living room but couldn't find one anywhere. We took the DIY approach and used a blue stain with a color washing technique. I would eventually like to get a vase along with some other decorative pieces and put a picture on the wall above the table.
(3) This dining room set is from Room & Board. I really like the natural look of the walnut since you can see all the knots. I'm not typically a fan of darker furniture but this was an exception. I think a hanging light fixture would pull the room together.
More pictures to come! Now off to sleep for me, I'm exhausted. Happy Halloween!
