Remist is taking on a momentous ecological cause ─ the conservation of
the sea turtles. From now until June 14th, when you purchase any of our
Hawaiian turtle jewelry, you are supporting turtle conservation and
preservation.
We are commemorating World Turtle Day – on May 23, 2009 – by donating 20% of all turtle jewelry revenue to the SWOT partnership. SWOT is a partnership among Conservation International (CI), the IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group (MTSG), Duke University’s OBIS-SEAMAP, and an ever-growing international team of local organizations, scientists and conservationists. Together, the SWOT team, seeks to create a permanent global network of specialists working to accelerate the conservation of sea turtles and their habitats, pooling and synthesizing data, and regularly sharing the information with audiences who can make a difference.
The sea turtle plays a sacred role in Hawaiian culture, representing peace, longevity and wisdom. Remist’s goal is to financially assist organizations that share the goal of saving the sea turtle from extermination.

SWOT – the State of the World’s Sea Turtles is a partnership among global leaders in sea turtle conservation including the IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group, Conservation International, Duke University, and an ever-growing international team of local organizations, scientists and conservationists. Together, this powerful group – the SWOT Team – seeks to create a permanent global network of specialists working to accelerate the conservation of sea turtles and their habitats, pooling and synthesizing data, and regularly sharing the information with audiences who can make a difference. Born out of the necessity to generate a comprehensive perspective of sea turtle status able to inform strategic conservation action, SWOT is the first and only effort of its kind, playing a critical role in protecting sea turtles around the world.
SWOT’s award-winning annual magazine, SWOT Report, is designed to channel the SWOT Team’s collective power by highlighting its success stories, innovations, and new findings. Each year, SWOT Report is distributed back to the SWOT Team members who helped create it, free of charge, for use in their own local outreach campaigns in communities where sea turtles nest, forage, and migrate.
