Listen free on Lala
Hulu - Watch your...

With our currently crappy economy, it's good to know you can still get something decent for free.

My husband learned about hulu.com a couple of months ago via a co-worker.  I had not heard of the site at that time, but now they have commercials plastered on t.v. every freakin' night, so I'm sure you're familiar with it by now.  If not, check it out.  All you have to do is create a free account and you're ready to go.  All kinds of free movies and t.v. shows at your fingertips.

This past week I skimmed through Entertainment Weekly and saw a blurb about hulu and its musical counterpart, lala.  Lala lets you listen to millions of full music tracks for free, and you can save fifty or so into your account for endless listening pleasure.  (After that I believe you have to pay to save tracks for future use.)

If you haven't visited these sights, give 'em a whirl!  And don't say I never gave ya anything.  ;-)

Aww thanks for letting me know about this! I have heard of Hulu, but lala was something I had not heard of. I'm on my way to check them out. Mind if I ask...do you have to download the tv shows to your computer or can you just watch them without having to download them?

You just watch them on your computer. Which is good, because my hard drive is full of junk as it is.

I also learned of hulu from coworkers who recommended Burn Notice (great show!), and said hulu was the best way to catch it. One of them doesn't even have cable, satellite, or an antenna because they just watch everything over hulu or one of the other free Internet services.

This was the first I heard of lala though -- I'll have to check that out. Personally, I love pandora.com for checking out music, although you can't control exactly what you listen to, it's really good for finding new stuff that you'll like.

HULU!

Hmmm.... I'll have to check pandora out!

playlist.com also lets you listen to music for free and you can save endless amounts and create different playlists at no cost. :)
In the spirit of free stuff, I'd also like to recommend a few swapping sites that are pretty much free (except you do have to pay postage one way). SwapADVD.com is great for getting free DVD's (and I've gotten lot's of quality new releases and Disney movies). PaperBackSwap is awesome to swap for books. And SwapTree is a site that allows you to swap for DVD's, CD's, Books and Video Games. Again all you do is pay for the postage of mailing out your item.
Also, there's MakeUpAlley.com where you can swap with other users for all kinds of Beauty products (lots of brand new products too!).

oh very cool! I just recently heard about hulu for the first time and keep meaning to check it out!

I love hulu! I don't have to worry about VCR's or DVR's (because I don't have one) Hulu is great, it's all on there. Going back several episodes. A normal hour show has 4 or so commercial breaks 30 seconds or less. Also on Hulu a must see: Dr Horrible's Sing A Long Blog! The major networks all have their shows online on their own websites but watching them on Hulu is much better.

Wow! You guys are giving me all kinds of ideas. I love free stuff!!!

I watch a lot of Hulu but I'll have to try lala!
It's cool for watching Simpson episode and Family Guy episode !!

I FREAKING LOVE hulu! I watch The Office exclusively on hulu because I always seem to miss it on TV. Yay for hulu! :D

i love hulu! i use last.fm for most of my music listening and discovering needs. i used to co-write a music blog and i found so many amazing artists through last.fm.

dr horrible is one of the best things to come about from the writers strike!

I'm so old fashioned. I still watch tv when the show is on tv. But since I watch so little it's no big deal. I was just reminded of hulu the other day, and I've heard of lala but haven't ever looked into it. thanks for all the free tips! I need more ways to waste my time. ;)

Thank you! I will check it out. Appreciate the cost savings for sure..

I love the hulu commercials, but i will check it out. thanks!

I practically LIVE on hulu, since we don't really get TV at my house. It's awesome. :D

thanks!

You know I think I saw one of the Baldwin brothers promoting this site. He didn't convince me, but YOU did. And free music is always good!!! THANK YOU..Smiles...Pat (paws)

thnx babe! Will def check it out. My hubby will be stoked!

thanks a bunch! i hate those hulu commercials, but i like the concept! lol ;) haven't used it b/c we DVR everything at the moment. hadn't heard of lala though... thanks for the heads up - nifty. =]

Lala sounds great! I've been using Pandora.com for some free music, but you can't pick specific songs to play later, and it does repeat a lot. But Pandora has opened up a lot of new songs and artists to me. Thanks for the info; I will definitely be checking out LaLa!

Lala has been my newest obsession for the last few weeks.
